I feel sure we will either not use all of our dessert options at the time of our meal or will not use the all.
My question is how hard is it to redeem them later and can they be used as "snack credits" later?

You can't, you have to get the dessert with the meal, or take it to go. Credits are not separated into entree and dessert. One credit will get you an entree and a dessert at the same time, you can't go back later or go somewhere else and get the dessert. Nor can you trade your dessert for snack credits.

The only "later" option you might have is ordering ice cream with a CS meal. They let you come back after you've eaten to get the ice cream so it doesn't melt. But that's it.

Dang. Will they wrap up your dessert at least where it is portable?

At CS most desserts are prepackaged so no problem. At TS they'll give you a to-go box.

Be aware that many items do not travel well in the Florida summer heat & humidity. Plus if it is a lunch item, who wants to lug it around in the parks?

we have taken desserts to go before. Just make sure to pick the most portable, non-melting thing. Cookies, brownies, cakes are a good option. If a dessert has cake and ice cream, they just package up the cake for you. Some places may let you substitute fruit for a dessert. CS may let you substitute chips also. I have found different restaurants/different CMs each allow different things. I always just ask.

If you don't use all your ts credits on the dining plan, can you trade them in for snack credits?

We will be off site for a couple of days visiting family, so we won't be eating lunch at Disney, so if I can take those ts credits and turn them into snacks, it would work better for us.

Thanks,

No you can't. But if you're going for FD they will allow you to turn a TS into a CS and 2SCs. But ONLY during FD. If they do the vouchers again this year that is.
