Good morning,

Maybe a newbie question but couldn't find the answer on the board. We have DDP for the family of 2 adults and 2 kid 9 and 7. I understand TS credits are pooled for the whole family. When we dine let's say at Citrios, can we use only TS Credits for the adults meals and pay kid meals OOP and keep these Kid's TS credits unused for us to use it elsewhere or the whole table need to use 2 TS credits from the DDP per persons ?

Thank you

You can only use the adult credits, but you would still be left with only KID meal credits. Not sure it makes a lot of sense, but they are your credits to use as you see fit. Not sure why you would want to go to a TS restaurant and get kid meals only, but that's not for me to judge.:confused3

You could do that, but the children's credits can be used only for meals from the children's menu. TS credits are separated by adult and child. So unless you want to save them and use them for children's meals at another restaurant, there isn't much reason to do this.

Some guests like to do this because they believe the children's menu meals are not worth 2 dining credits, so they pay OOP for the children at 2 credit restaurants, then book extra one-credit restaurants, pay OOP for the adults and use the leftover children's credits for the children. It used to work very well with buffets and all you can eat restaurants, until the pricing for adults at all-you-can-eats exploded.

OK Thank you all. I didn't know the TS credits are separated between adults and kids...now my plan makes no sense. Does the QS credits are separated as well ?

Thanks

QS credits are not separated on the receipt. But it is Disney's rule that the children's credits must be used to order from children's menus, unless the restaurant has no children's menu. There are a few CS that have no children's menu.

It's up to you to keep track of those credits. It's the policy of the DIS restaurant board to not discuss methods of circumventing Disney's rule, so discussions of using the children's credits for adult meals are deleted.
