DDP credits and magic bands?

I apologize if this has been addressed before, but I couldn't find an answer. The last time we went to WDW in 2010, we paid for our meals while on the DDP with the key cards. My question is, now that those have been replaced by the Magic Bands, how do you pay for your meals? Do they have scanners they bring around at the restaurants or how does that work? Thanks!

Exactly that. At TS restaurants your server will have a hand-held scanner. It does have a keypad and you'll need to enter your PIN. Only one person needs to scan and it will work for the whole family. At QS places, there's a scanner by each register where again, you scan the band and put in your PIN. That's also what happens in any stores. And again, one person can scan for the entire party.

Thank you for your reply! That's pretty neat how they do that. Is your pin assigned to you or do you pick your own pin? When do you get those?

You'll pick your own when you get there. You can either do all separate ones or one for the whole party!
