Have there been major changes to the DDP since 2006? Trip is in 2007. I see the 2008 thread. OMG! They made major changes there. If anyone can give a heads-up b/t changes from 2006-2007 that would be great.

Major change: Disney (finally*) changed the POS systems to prevent adults from using child credits at table service restaurants.

*opinion of the poster only.

The only thing that I cared was the snacks choices went from nothing like they are going to offer again in 2008 (water , Soda, Chip, Icecream ), to like almost anything under 4$ which was wonderful in 2007 (french toast in MSB, and box of doughnuts...etc...). ANd soon it will suck again, but this time even worse than original...

This is the first I had heard about changes to snack. It's not going to be the $4 limit at all those places?

NOTHING has changed regarding the snacks.

Here’s the link to the 2007 brochure, and here’s http://adisneyworld.disney.go.com/m...agespecific/eng/nontheme/tickets/08Dining.pdf the link to the 2008 brochure.

In the Snacks description, BOTH brochures (and, therefore, plans) state, “Some examples of eligible Snack items include
Frozen Ice-Cream Novelty, Popsicle or Fruit Bar
Single Piece of Whole Fruit
20 oz. Bottle of Coke®, Diet Coke®, Sprite® or 20 oz. Dasani® Water
12 oz Coffee, Hot Chocolate, or Hot Tea
Popcorn Scoop (single serving box)
Single Serving Bag of Snacks
Medium Fountain Soft Drink
Single Serving Prepackaged Milk or Juice”.
IMMEDIATELY below that is the ‘Snack’ symbol followed by “You may redeem your snacks at most Quick Service restaurants, outdoor food carts and merchandise locations selling frozen ice-cream novelties, popcorn or Coca-Cola® products throughout the Walt Disney World ® Resort. Look for this symbol to identify Quick Service restaurants, outdoor food carts and merchandise locations that accept your Disney Dining Plan and to identify eligible snack options” (bolding mine)

Sorry Kaytieeldr but I beg to differ.....

....when we were in DW in April of 2006, the ONLY snacks available on the DDP was water, pop, chips, icecream & popcorn. It has been shown to be true by MANY of the posters that in 2007, you pretty much have free-range on using SC on the DDP as long as it's under $4.00 & considered a snack food. The OP asked what the diff was between 2006 & 2007 DDP, using snack credits....that is a pretty BIG diff.

The snacks that were promised in the brochure were the same in 2006 and 2007. The brochure lists a half dozen or so snacks and then says anything else with a DDP logo is also included.

The number of included snacks was dramatically increased in the middle of 2006. Many posters in 2006 observed an "unofficial" $4 policy was being implemented.

Callalily....dont' know when in 2006 you are talking about...when we were there in April 2006 there were VERY limited snacks available on the plan. Now, from what we hear, there are A LOT of different choices!! Hope that helps in answering your question!!

Enjoy your upcoming trip!

Yeah, you're absolutely right, WDisnut! Let me work on a formula and I'll get back to you... :teeth:

So I guess a responce would have to depend on when you went :) lol.

The list of included snacks remained the same through 2006 and 2007. The "extra" snacks, the so called $4 rule, aren't part of the plan and are always subject to change without notice. At least one poster said the box of donuts is no longer included, at least in some resorts.
