DDP - Buying extra credits

On the final day of our recent trip we used up our last snacks so the balance showed zero.

When the CM handed me back the card & receipt he surprised me by saying that we could buy extra credits at our resort.

I can imagine that people who go for a short time (2 -3 days) but arrive early and leave late might find this useful as they would end up a day short on food, but does anyone know: is it really possible to buy DDP credits?

As far as I know, that CM was wrong.

You can only purchase the dining plan based on the number of nights at the resort-no more credits than that and no less.

that's a first. As the OP said, the credits are part of the package and it is tied to the number of nights stay.

Maybe a new CM?
