DDP Bounceback Offer

I posted this on the DDP forum but got no response. As you are probably aware, Disney is offering free DDP for next Sept to those staying this Sept.
I was wondering if the offer applies to those staying in DVC resorts.
I know that if I were to use the offer, I would have to stay at a non-DVC resort.
Has anyone returned from a DVC resort lately and seen this offer?

I've heard of the offer being extended to DVC members staying on their points, HOWEVER the return trip in 2008 must be booked at the proper plan terms. That includes paying full rack rate for accommodations.

If you're visiting WDW this month, it's likely that you will be able to book the bounceback promotion. But you'll have to pay the published cash rates for your accommodations in 2008 just like everyone else.

Thanks for the quick reply.

However, if as noted on your other thread...if you are staying with a DVC Member for a couple days, and are not getting a room key in your name (to avoid the additional DDP charges), you will NOT be eligible for the bounce back.

Yes Chuck is correct. Bounceback is not offered to everyone. It is offered to those registered guests staying at WDW till September 28 I believe. Not sure about the offer being made to DVC members staying on points, however. That would be news to me..

Since the search feature doesn't work for us mere mortals, could you please quote what you're referring to? I looked on the DDP board but couldn't find anything, and inquiring minds want to know. :rolleyes1

I'm sure your comment is right on target, but it's meaningless in code.

Thanks.

If you are not staying the entire time, you might not be able to get a room ID and could technically be illegal in the room. Otherwise, they will need to add you from the beginning and someone will have to pay for the dining plan for both of you for the entire time.

Guess I won't be legal then..... I am not paying for the extra days and since I am their guest, I am not going to make them not have the dining plan. It should not be a problem.
...unless you want to take advantage of the Bounce Back promotion!!!:rotfl2:

I hope someone didn't outsmart themselves!

Yes, that will be an issue for us but they are looking to book the bounceback offer also.
Also, I have a late flight in the first night and was looking at an offsite hotel (using FF points). But, if it is worth it (and if the offer is not valid at DVC resorts), it may be worth staying in an on site resort to get the offer.

We were at OKW in early Sept (9/1-9/3); we did not receive a bounce-back offer...

I'm pretty sure you'll be able to get it either from a DVC resort or from any onsite resort, as long as you meet the requirements. The Bounce Back promotion just started and I don't think it was in effect when Dani was there.

The first thing I'd do is research DDP 2008 and see if it's even worth it to go to all that trouble. There are some major changes for 2008, and you may not find the plan as attractive as you think it's going to be.

I'd also research the requirements for the Bounce Back and be sure you can get it with a one-night stay. If so, then I'd book your first night at a value for the best price you can get.

You'll find info on both the 2008 DDP (with links to the official brochure) and the current Bounce Back promotion on the DDP board.

I called MS and was told being a DVC member that I could not be a part of the "bounce back" offer!! :(

I am going down on the 18th, so i will let you know!

Keeping my fingers crossed !!

You can't get the "free" DDP on a points ressie, but I believe you will get the Bounce Back offer. The CM you talked to probably assumed you wanted to get free DDP with a points stay. Obviously, the Bounce Back offer is for a regular resort room at rack rate, plus all of the other requirements of free dining.

I've seen some reports that you don't receive the offer until your last day...which really messes some people up because they get the offer on the morning they're scrambling for a flight home. I'd ask at checkin.
