DDP & Appsfor 2 at Rainforest and Trex

So we are on the Deluxe Dining Plan and i know that this includes a appetizer and at most of the restraunts we are eating at (signature restraunts) this hasnt been much of a problem because it seemed to be a smaller app with smaller portions. We are quiet use to eating like this on vacation at all inclusive resorts and cruises and such.

My worry is at a restraunt liek Rainforest Cafe & T-Rex is this going to a big full size app for each of us? This will be wayyyyyyy to much if so. Will they let us get a Sampler type app for the table? if we have 2 Adults and 1 Child?

If there is a sampler platter type of app it is often listed as "for 2" and will usually requires 2 adults to use their credits so you could certainly order that.

Even though each person on the DxDDP is entitled to an app/entree/dessert not everyone has to order every course if you feel that will be too much food. Another thing we've done on the DxDDP when we're too full for desserts is to order one to share and taken the other back to our room for breakfast.

Following on to the dessert suggestion, you may (no guarantees, though) ask to have one of the appetizers to go as well, especially if you're heading back to your resort. As with desserts, choose something that travels well and won't get soggy, etc., after sitting around.

And just to reiterate, you don't have to order everything you're entitled to.

I had the fried Mozzerella and it was about 4 or 5 so enough for me to have a few and DH too. I am not sure if you have small kids and not sure if they get appis too but maybe share with them? We are on the DxDP this fall for the first time and dont know if kids even get appis

The kids are entitled to apps too but it is not from the adult menu.

You can each order an appetizer or you can order 1 appetizer that states it is for 2 people. I believe the larger samplers may have been 3 credits. I know the volcano brownie dessert was more than 2 credits (I can't remember if it was 3 or 4 though.)

we ate at RAinforest in February 2012, and TRex in both March & May 2012. At both places, we were told all the "apps for 2" would require 2 adult credits each.

The volcano dessert was referred to as a "table dessert" and we were told it would have to be ordered as 4 adults' desserts on the dining plan (or pay cash for it)
