DDP and Virgin

Has anybody tried to book the DDP with Virgin? Or has anyone who has booked with Virgin tried to book the DDP directly with their resort?

Hi Catherine,

I know this topic has been the source of some debate on here before. Virgin were initially booking this for Virgin clients, but then they stopped. I don't know if they have started again or not I'm afraid, and I'm also not sure how you book direct with WDW.

I originally booked this for my October trip with Virgin as i bought a package with park tickets from them. I later cancelled the DDP when I realised they were charging far more than Disney themselves.(sorry don't remember how much Virgin charged me). i then rang WDW to try and get it added through them and the answer given was that I would need to book a ticket/room package with disney directly to be eligable to book DDP with them. if the dining plan is what you seek, the answer is to book the room and park tickets with disney directly and you will get the best deal, virgin are still taking bookings for DDP on their website but you would need to book room and park tickets with them to qualify for booking it.

I've looked on Virgin's website and I can't find any info about the DDP. I also spoke with someone at Disney and they told that I would have to book the package directly with them to add the DDP. However when I looked at the info on the Disney website it doesn't say anything about having to book directly with them. The only stipulation is that the resort hotel room and the tickets must be booked through the same tour operator!

At this point I'm thinking that I might just phone the resort hotel directly and see if I can get the DDP added to our reservation.

I had a look and I guess that Virgin have stopped offering it! I'm just going to phone the resort directly and get the DDP added to our reservation. Hopefully there won't be a problem as we have booked a package!

I went through the booking process to see how much they are charging for the dining plan. For 1 adult having the dining plan for 15 days they charge £315 which is £21 per day. Mind you the cost of the holiday for me would be
£1779 because of a £375 single room suppliment. With dreams unlimited the holiday is £1268 with free disney dining. If I went with disneyworld uk with the dining plan (not free in the Uk) it would be £1598 which is £181 cheaper and with the free dining plan its £511 cheaper so look around before deciding.

I brought a fare from Virgin Atlantic it is costing £433 but I added that onto the price.
I see the problem, the disney dining plan option only seems to be at Pop Century weird!!!!!!!!

An alternative to VHols and have DDP is to try Thomas Cook Signature, they are offering it so you can do a whole package, the alternatives are to book either through Disney UK or USA and include tickets

In case anyone is interested in booking the DDP. I spoke with Virgin and they don't offer the plan anymore. As we have already booked a package with Virgin, the lady that I spoke with said that the only way to get the DDP is for us to cancel our booking and re-book a fly drive. We would then have to book our resort and tickets through Disney or another tour operator! I think that is probably what we are going to do. So now I just have to figure out who to book it with!

It seems like a lot of hassle! I just wonder if Virgin are missing out on a lot of bookings by not offering the plan?!

If you look at Disney.com at the US they are slghtly better but ther eis the risk of currency rate fluctuations. Yu can use this is you book a fly drive. The main difference between the US and the UK sites is UK is procveper person and US is price per room.

If you are ging during the free dining period I would suggest Dreamsunlimited. Not only will you get your free dining but you can email them your choices for adrs and they will book them for you.

I thought that if you booked the DDP that you couldn't use any of the discount codes!

Thanks for the info.but as far as I know you can't get the 14 day ultimate ticket if you book with Disney.com and that is the ticket that we plan on getting.
