DDP and split stay

We just decided to go to Disney Jan 15-18, and all I could get was 2 nights at Boardwalk and the last night at Saratoga.

I am waitlisted for the last night, but was wondering.

Can I get the DDP for the first two nights, and not the last night (since it is at a different resort)?

I would call Member services but it is Sunday. Anyway know if they are open tomorrow since it is a holiday?

Yes, as long as you stay at two different resorts or two different room categories. Meaning you have to move out and move into a different villa. If the waitlist comes through, you'd have to have the plan for the entire stay.

Good to know. Getting it for 2 nights would be good, because the last day we will not be going into a park, and that is usually where we like to have a sit down meal.

So if I arrive on a Friday afternoon, and transfer on a Sunday afternoon, I can use the meals from Friday and Saturday night stays until midnight of Sunday? Is that correct? As I assume I would get new room keys at Saratoga, and still have my Boardwalk ones with the DDP on it.

Anyone know if this is true?

If it is, I may cancel the waitlist for the last night. We are 2 adults and 2 children, (who are technically adults now), so it costs a lot for us for the meal plan (over $328 for 2 nights). If we can really use it for the 3 days, that would work out well. Since that last time we used it, we had to leave and did not use all of our quick service meals.

Thanks to anyone for confirming this (or not).

Your credits will be good until midnight of the day you check out. So Sunday at midnight. And the credits would be on your BWV room ID.

I have just been checking the Deluxe Dining Plan and this actually might be a better option for us. If we bought the Deluxe for the 2 nights, it would cost us $576.00, but we would have a total of 6 sitdown meals to spread over the 3 days, not to mention the 16 snacks and the 4 refillable mugs.

Since we usually spend over $100 for sitdown meals anyway, if you times 6 by $100 you are already over the $576 and the 16 snacks and mugs are a bonus. We can do 2 sitdown meals per day over the 3 days!

I am so psyched now about this. I really thought we would be priced out of the dining plan since our kids became "adults" but since we are moving to a new resort it works out great for us!

:banana:Can't wait to call member services and have the waitlist removed for the last night (and confirm that I can do this).

One little known thing is that you can actually get DDP for part of your stay Even if you are at the same resort and split your stay into 2 reservations (of course there is allways the rare chance that you might have to change rooms though by all reports that is very rare).

so, I could actually keep the waitlist for Boardwalk, and just ask that they keep it as a separate booking (like it is now)? This way, there is a chance I wouldn't have to move, and if I did, at least it would only be from one studio to another. That would be excellent! THANKS!

I can't wait to call member services tomorrow!

But you won't know until you check in. They may make you pay for three nights when you check in.

We did split stays in August for this exact reason. So we could be on the DDP for only 2 nights and the QSDP for the rest (we are not big TS people).

It also gave us a chance to try different resorts (first DVC stay). I had heard that we could have tried to stay at the same resort and just keep them separate, but didn't want to chance it being linked and ending up with more of the DDP than I wanted.

Since you are at the BW, you could put in for a different view so even if you have to move rooms, you would not be moving resorts. That would definitely keep them separate. That is what we originally had (2 nights SV and 2 nights preferred view at BWV) and then BLT came through for the 2nd two nights.

Good luck!

I called member services today. They told me that if Boardwalk came through for the last night that it would be combined and that we would have to buy the dining for the entire stay.

So, I told them to keep it the way it is. We would be out all day anyway, and returning to SSR on Sunday night would not be horrible, as we will be sleeping in the next day, and possibly doing Disney Quest during the day until our late afternoon flight. So, when we check out of Boardwalk Sunday morning, we will just throw our stuff into our car. Magic Kingdom is open late that night for resort guests, so we will just park there instead of having the car in the Boardwalk Parking lot and then we will just go over to SSR instead of back to BWV. Since we will have only a few bags, and will not really unpack luggage, it should be an easy turnover. Now I am very excited about making Dining reservations on this Thursday! Two sitdown restaurants per day for 3 days! Can you tell I like food?! LOL And we can use the snack credits to get any other food we might want, although I doubt we will want much. We could get snacks and use them for the last day!

Also, we get appetizers with the Deluxe plan, which doesn't come with the regular plan.
