DDP and Free $200 Gift Card Promotion??

It appears that the Free $200 Gift Card Promotion might work out to be a better deal for my solo trip. Although I would have to stay a minimum of 5 nights, it looks to be the same price as the 3 night stay I was looking at!

My question is if I book this and add the Dining Plan ($41.99 x 5 days = $209.95), is there anyway I can use the $200 gift card to pay for my Dining Plan?

I plan on charging my reservation to my Disney Visa so I can take advantage of the 6 month interest free promotion.

When do you actually get the $200 gift card?

Could I make my ADR's now and just add the DDP once I arrived, and just pay for the DDP with the $200 gift card at that time?

Please explain how this works.

1) You cannot use your gift card to pay for the dining plan, since a package must be paid in full within 45 days of arrival.

2) You get the gift card on check-in, by which time your package will have been fully paid.

3) You cannot add the dining plan on check-in. It must be added no later than 72 hours before check-in. If added less than 45 days before check-in, the entire package must be paid in full when the plan is added.

4) You can make your ADRs at 180 days from check-in regardless of the dining plan. The on-line system doesn't even ask if you're on the dining plan.

5) You can use your gift card for anything else, including tips which are not included in the dining plan. You can also use it on check out to pay for anything you've charged to the room.

I called, and the CM said you ( I ) couldn't use both promos that i had to pick one or the other. We kept the free dining.

That's true, but I believe the OP was talking about buying the dining plan, not getting free dining.

According to Mousesavers, it's a 2 day base ticket. You can use your gift card to upgrade your tickets to 4 day with or without hopper, with or without WP&M, or any other way you want. Once you have the GC in your hand, it's as good as cash at any Disney-owned place, and you can do with it as you like.
