I am leaving and called Disney to get information and the lady was next to useless. I was reading more than she could answer. Oh well, maybe a bad day for her.

I want to get DDP for everyone in our group and we have our AP's. We have rented points to stay at the DVC.

Can we get it the DDP? If so, how do I get it? Can I get it when we get there?

Thanks, April

The DDP will have to be added through DVC Member Services and they will only deal with the member, not the renter. If you're renting, they should not have even been discussing or answering anything for you.

FYI, you must have the person you rented from call at least a couple days ahead of the start of the ressie. Sometimes 24 hours ahead is enough, but that can't be guarnateed, so I would give it at least 4-5 days ahead. The owner must call DVC member services and reserve it for your entire party, and ONLY your entire party. The cost will be $39 per person per day. Children under 9 are less, but I'm sorry, I don't know that cost.

Have your renter call and book the DDP for you it's well worth it.

I didn't call MS. I know better than that. I called regular people services and they could not answer the question.

The person I rented from said to just ask when we arrive and see if they can add us on.

I will write them again and ask them to just call and let them know I will my request.

Good news, I am bringing my closing documents and certified funds with me and the TSS is coming to the resort to pick them up! I will close a few days after I get home.

Wow, what a long strange trip it's been.

Have a wonderful trip, and write us a little report when you get back.

Where did you end up staying? OKW or SSR?

Enjoy, and that's fabulous on your TSS purchase.

Let me be the first to say: "WELCOME HOME"

You cannot add DDP when you arrive. It must be on the reservation when you get there. You will be charged for it when you arrive.

CRO will not be able to answer any questions about DVC reservations. The two systems are entirely separate.

I was told the DDp could be added up to the time you check in but that it must be before you reach that front desk. Hopefully the person you rented from will make the call for you. The payment is made at check in so that does not affect the person you rented from. Have a wonderful trip.

It must be added prior but through MS. I know it can be added the day before but I am not sure it can be added on the day of check in.

That is correct, Member Services has to add the plan for members. While exceptions have been made, the policy is 3 days prior to arrival. Some have gotten lucky and MS has added after 3 days, but I would not take that chance.

Dearest Goldilocks,

I will close just a bit after we get home. This is the resurrected trip from the Godparents canceling their timeshare and the sisters coming with us.

It was the kindness of the Dismembers that made this trip possible for us. I learned so much in the entire process. About giving, about myself and others. I am so grateful. I did rent points in the end at a fair price but a bit below market. The folks helped me out with the weekend and I feel like I did what was right. I asked myself why is it the people who wanted to help me the most were in the least position to do so? Regardless when the time comes to help out, I hope I can.

I did write the person who we rented from and asked him to add us to the dining plan when they open in the morning. He said he would.

Finally, I am going to Disney and good nite.

Not to quibble as it's an extremely minor point but I don't think it's a policy of 3 days prior but simply a suggestion because if you arrive on a weekend or holiday it may be as many as 2-3 days prior that DVC is closed and this came about prior to Sat openings.

I have been told by MS that I needed to let them know 48 hours before hand BUT I would follow DEAN's advice and make it at least 3 days . I get good answers from Dean ( and others ) but can get different answers from MS depending on who I talk with , although not as often as CRO.

Perhaps we were lucky with this instance, but we were able to call MS on the arrival date (ahead of check in) and add DDP. Not sure if that should have happened, but it worked in this case.
