Si I get the CS rules and are easily applied to most eateries. But Pepper Market at CSR, I struggle with and it is important to get this figured out as I will be staying here in September.

So if I selected to eat the following would I be following the CS credit rules?

1 egg roll
Chef's Salad
Water
Cheesecake

or another example:

Grilled Veggies
Individual Pizza
Soft Drink
Flan

 :bitelip: :guilty:

Good luck!!! I have found that CS and the Pepper Market was among the most difficult in terms of using the DDP program!!! None of the workers know what is allowed and what is not, as opposed to other locations. Managers did seem to be slightly more knowledgable, but the offerings were not comparable to other resorts for the same program. I can tell you that in most other locations the DDP plan was explained well and there were almost no exclusions. In CS it was just the opposite, it seemed like more items were excluded than included and not many people understood how that plan worked!!! One of the best CS locations I found was the food court in the Land Pavilion in EPCOT. I couldnt eat all the food they gave me and my nephew helped me finish off my dessert!! Belle

Just ask, the CMs will be glad to tell you what's included.

CS meals include an entrée (or a combo meal) a drink and a dessert. You don't get "a side" unless it's included as part of a combo meal. As an example a breakfast platter includes bacon but if you order something a la carte you'll have to pay for bacon. The rib eye steak is a combo, unless something has changed, you get 2 side dishes (basically choice of potato and vegetable).

edited to say I read the previous post, it's really not that complicated. Whatever is included with an the entree if you're paying cash for the meal is included with the Dining Plan, whatever is extra if you're paying cash is extra on the dining plan. The problem is when guests think they're entitled to extra "sides".

Desserts are limited to tier 1 bakery items, basically a cookie or muffin.

I don't remember a combo that included an egg roll with chefs salad and cheesecake is definitely not included.

Likewise I don't remember a combo that included grilled veggies with a pizza. Just ask, my memory might be off. I'm pretty sure Flan is also extra.

I'm not sure if Pepper Market is worth a trip but if you're staying at CSR it's a great choice. You're getting a CS meal that could replace a TS meal in your planning. It's a great deal even with the dessert restrictions. CSR basically limits your snack to what's listed on the brochure and a rice krispy treat. You can't get a cookie or a muffin as a snack.

Thank you Lewis. Your explanation is easily understood!
I suppose I was trying to "create" combo at Pepper Market, when I really wouldn't eat all that food.
So the best bet would be to select an item that lists-- steak with potato and veggie-- or --chicken quesadillia with black beans and rice-- for a more complete meal.

Thanks a bunch!

when you sit down, they will give you a menu with all of the selections listed. Each selection shows what is included and over each of the "areas" are blackboards with the special of the day for that area and other items available.

We had lunch there our first full day. I have to say that it was very upsetting. My dh ordered one of the mexican dishes and ordered a cheese and pepperoni pizza for our son. They told him that it is made to order and to come back up to the counter in about 10 minutes. So they came back to the table and waited. Dh went back up at the appointed time, but no pizza. Apparently they gave it away to someone who walked up and ordered a similar one, not thinking that it was in the oven for a previous customer. He was very upset, especially when one of the workers behind the counter, whose English was not the best, kept saying that maybe he never ordered it. So he came back and got the card showing it was stamped and they agreed to make another and have dh come back again. He waited over there for 15 minutes and came storming back to the table since they then managed to totally burn 5 pizzas in the oven and had to throw them all out. It had now been almost 30 minutes, his lunch is completely cold, my 8 yo has not eaten and my 3.5 yo has nothing, since I couldn't leave the kids alone at the table.

I took the order card over to a floor manager, explained the circumstances and asked that the pizza be removed from our order card so I could get my son something else. He marked it off and initialled it. When I then said that because of the 2 mistakes, my husband's lunch was now cold and inedible, his response was "well, you can see we're very busy here." DH was really upset. I took the card, got ds a burger and brought it back to the table.

Our server then came over, asked what happened, and after explaining, took dh's plate away and got him a new fresh order. She then took our lunch card and ended up comping us for the meal. Very nice of her to do but not what I expected of a manager. It was busy, but certainly not when we walked in, which was around 11:30 or so. By the time everything got screwed up, it was after noon and the conference crowd was coming in.

We stayed away for lunch after that, and only had breakfast a couple of times.

I think it's a good value for lunch since you have basically choices that you might see in a sit down restaurant. But be careful if you order something that is going to be made to order. Don't go far and perhaps order that first and wait for it before ordering anything else.

You can't go by the internet menus. Read the special board when you enter. Decide what entrée you want and just ask what's included with it. The included items are inevitably right next to the entrée. Most of them are obvious; meat and potatoes come with steak but an egg roll wouldn't normally come with pizza.

Remember Pepper Market is a CS meal. Many of the park locations don't give you much more than a burger or chicken fingers to pick from.

I dont know if I totally agree with this. I certainly do agree you can find a burger or chicken fingers. I certainly dont think the menus are that limited though. Check out any of the Counter Service locations in World Showcase as a great example of just the opposite!!! I have also seen a bit more in the way of menu choices for other CS options such as the Rotisserie Chicken at Cosmic Ray's, The Land Food Court is amazing and offers many options. I wouldnt leave a theme park to go back to my resort just for lunch though. Belle

I'll agree my statement was overly broad and you listed some of the good CS restaurants that are available to MYW Dining guests.

My point is Pepper Market has many choices, in some ways it's closer to a low end TS restaurant. I think some guests get confused and think they're entitled to an appetizer. As a CS restaurant you only get whatever side(s) that are normally included with your combo.

The Land has almost as many entrée options as Pepper Market but they have better desserts than the limited desserts available at Pepper Market.
