DDP and a split stay

I have a question about the Disney Dinning Plan and split stays at 2 resorts. Say we book 2 days at OKW and then move over to SSR for an additional 7 days. I am assuming they will break up our DDP. So the first 2 days would be on one plan, and the next 7 on another. Will they let you do the DDP for only 2 days?

We had booked 2 days at BCV and 3 at SSR, and we only had the DDP booked for the BCV portion of the trip. That trip was radically changed, and we never did the DDP at all. (We did cancel it the Friday before our Sunday arrival, and there was no penalty.)

I think you can split things up any way you want, as long as you have two separate reservations. If you have two ressies linked together, or if the whole trip is in one ressie, you have to get DDP for the entire length of your trip.

The only way to tell for sure is to call MS and ask. If your ressies are separate, you should have no problem. If they are linked, MS may be able to split them up so you can only get DDP for two days.

Keep in mind, however, that the DDP credits for the two day ressie will expire at midnight of your checkout day from your two-night stay. They will not be available throughout your entire nine days, so you'll need to make your DDP ADRs during the two-day period.

ETA: You didn't say when your trip is, but if it's after 1/1/2008, you'd better pay close attention to the details of DDP. It looks like DDP is changing substantially for 2008 and many people will find it no longer worthwhile.
