I last went in 2006 and we didnt do it but I was told you could pay oop for the child meal and use the one that you saved for an extra adult meal. The reason Im asking is the childrens menus at some places are terrible and I know my son will want something on the adult menu, I dont mind paying for it but I dont want to lose the credit either.

The credits are now separated. You can pay out of pocket for your son's meal and then save his credit for another meal for him later, just not for an adult meal. The rules changed in 2007.

Please see the DDP FAQs thread for 2007 and the 2008 DDP FAQs thread for more info.

The rules didn't change between 2006 and 2007, Disney just shored up the process. The system was never intended to allow a child's credit to be used for an adult meal. They just now have the ability to enforce their policy.

My sister just returned from a trip to Disney last week and said the TS credits were indeed seperated, but the CS credits were still pooled. Is this correct?

Yes that's true, just keep in mind Puumbaa's quote above, kids credits are for kids meals, even if they aren't separated out. So if you have 2A/2C on you plan you probably can't get 3A CS meals when you check out. :thumbsup2

Yes, I figured as much. I was just wanting to clarify that they were indeed still pooled together. My 5, and 6 year olds could never eat an adult meal anyway! :)
