Hey there all-we're going for 5 days on a room only ressie in September.....we're APs so I was wondering is it worth it to buy the DDE. We are meeting other family members and we have some really great restaurants booked. Also does it cover children too-or is that separate fee?? Thanks for the help!

we used it for our group a few weeks ago.....one was an 8 year old and then 12 year old and 15 year old....and all of us oldsters too.....
It is worth it for us because we plan on using our AP again before the year is out.....and ALSO we used it at our resort food court....for all of us.....It saved us a good amount and we enjoyed saving that money for our guests as well..

It all depends on how much you will use it. For an AP holder the break even point is $300. I think FL residents pay 85. You have to think about if you will use it that much. We did buy one. There are some CS places included that I didn't realize until we were there for a few days and we were staying at the ASMu and could have used it there.

DDE covers the full bill, including alcoholic beverages, at participating restaurants for up to 10 people. The only relevant age limit is that you must be 21 to buy a membership. It can be used to cover food ordered by anyone at any age, but the member should be present at the table.

We've saved big $ with ours, as we do a lot of signature dining with wine. it also includes valet parking at the resorts (saved $40 right there on our last trip).

With you meeting another family, your group could easily spend $300 in just a couple character meals or nice dinners; so just take a look at all your TS ADRs, make sure they're covered by the DDE. If you are doing 2 TS meals a day, times 5 days, times say 6 people... you probably will save $. NOTE: while it does include parties of up to 10 people (all ages) IIRC the bill must be one check (they won't divide the discount) so make sure everyone knows that (bring cash/rotate who charges, etc.).

Forgot to mention that the DDE now includes an 18% tip on all checks; (we always tip that or more anyway, just wanted to mention it). FWIW.

Do you have a big party? Do you eat at pricier restaurants? Will you eat at them often during your trip? If so, DDE is well worth it. We're locals, so for us it's a total no-brainer, but you have to do the math if you're just doing a trip.
