Dde Vs Ddp

Well the DDE card gets you 20% off at select restaurants....for up to 10 people. It also includes alcohol. We have the card but have not used it yet......so hopefully it will pay off. The DDP is also great for the fast food type areas and snacks where the card will not work. With kids the DDP plan may be better from what we are finding out and the DDE card is good if you enjoy sit down meals at real Disney restaraunts. Our upcoming trip I will have both, which makes no sense, but I hope we at least use our DDE card once.

the Disney Dining Experience (DDE) is a program available only to annual passholders. the way it works is that you purchase a DDE card (similar to a credit card) either over the phone or on-line for about $60. then you can use the card for a 20% discount on table service meals at most places on WDW property for yourself, your family.....up to 10 people in your party, i believe (someone pls correct me if i'm mistaken on that).

DW and i used our DDE card for the first time this past JUN and it worked out very well. even though 20% really only negates your tip, it adds up over the course of the week - or in our case this summer, two weeks!

Used the DDE card in June, had whole family there, 10 of us, saved almost $300.00. Four of us going again in December and will use again, should see a total of over $400.00 in discounts when done. Not bad for $60.00 investment. :yay: :yay: :yay:

We prefer DDE over DDP. Based on our habits it works better.

We
1). Do very few CS (maybe 1 or 2 per week)
2). DS8 typically eats from the adult menu
3). We only occasional order appys or dessert. I won't order/eat it just because it's "free and/or included"
4). DH & I would much prefer a glass of wine or other cocktail with dinner to dessert (at most places anyway). DDE discounts liquor, on DDP it would be out of pocket.

I think the choice comes down to individual needs. I kept all receipts from past trips & compared apples to apples in order to make sure I wasn't missing something.

Everybody is different. Just consider how you think you will be eating to see what's best for you.

We went to V&A with DDE and saved $80 when 4 people dined. Then continue to save 20% the rest of the week at nice restaurants. For $60 it is a great deal...I don't see how Disney is making any $ on this program and I would not be surprised if it vanishes in a year or two as people like me will jam on it....
