This darn card is so useful. We splurged on this trip(1/6-1/11). We hit Jiko twice, Bluezoo(not included), Bistro de Paris, Citricos, Boma, and Kona. We saved at least $200.

I faxed my application for the card on 12/11/07. We picked it up at Guest Relations at DD on 1/6/08 at 8:30pm. The card does not expire until 2/28/09. I was wondering about that because we go every January. I will get another year out of this card. Yeah!

I would say about 50% of servers told us 18% gratuity was included.

For BillPA; Rose and Crown adds the 18% inside, but Carl does let you know it is there.

Any questions, let me know.

Incredible. The food was so much better than Chefs de France. Service was superior. I mentioned in another thread, save this for a special night out. Plan on spending 2+ hours, enjoy multiple courses and enjoy some excellent wine. I would not do this as an iced tea and salad meal. The service demands you spend more time, and $$$ here. Request a window table and try to plan it around illuminations if you can.

We're looking to do DDE for this next trip. Can you walk through how a bill would work including tip?

For example, let's say you a meal where:
Food and wine - $100
tip $18
Is the total discount off the $118 or the $100? I'm trying to understand how the tip is included. We tend to do a decent number of signature meals so we figure it could really add up.

Basically, if I understand it correctly, it works like this:

Your food and wine comes to $100
Your discount is 20% off the bill so $20
The tip is then added in at 18% on the pre-discounted amount so $18

Therefore, you are saving $20 - some people see that the 18% gratuity being added means your savings are reduced but that is only the case if you didn't tip or left a tip below 18% previously.

Personally, I look on it as a saving either way and, with 7 in our group, the DDE is defintiely the way to go for us.

Hi, I am new to the DDE my mom is a Fl resident and she will be with us for a very quick trip (2days) the Feb. Do you have to pay for the card and is is good at only table service or can it also be used at counter service? I am wondering if it would be worth it for my mom to get the card since we will only be using it for 2 - 2.5 days. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks, Chris.

The cost is now $60. It really depends on where you are eating. If you are eating at the restaurants on the list, then it would be worth it. Just figure out how much you wil be spending on each meal and see if you can save atleast %$60 by using the card. It was worth it for us for our last 2 day trip.

The cost is:

$85.00 for Florida residents
$70.00 for Florida residents (renewal)
$65.00 for pass holders

Passholder rate is now $60. I just downloaded the application from disney's passholder website.

Do you have to fax the application in a month ahead of time, or can you just turn in the application when you purchase the card at Guest Relations?

Thanks for the info!

You can now purchase these at any Guest Relations - no need to apply in advance :)
