DDE second membership question

If I buy an AP and get myself a DDE card, does my DH also have to buy an AP to qualify for the add on membership card?

We got 2 cards w/ our DDE ~ one for hubby one for me.

One AP will get you both cards, much smaller fee for second card. Been well worth it for hubby and I though, when we are traveling with friends and girls go one way/guys other...we can both still get the discount.
