DDE quick question.

Hi all.

I'm sure that this information is somewhere on the site already but I can't find it, so asking anyway.

Just discovered the DDE for the first time, and like the look of it, so I'm considering using it next year.

My question is, am I right in thinking that it is only available for Florida residents or can it be purchased from the UK?

Question, of course is--can you USE the annual pass enough to make it--and the DDE card--worth the $$$??
We'll be able to use our AP 3 times--and also the DDE card 3 times. BUt if you can only use the AP just once, the cost may not justify that purchase, much less the DDE.

We are also from the UK and have both AP's and DDE. We recouped our outlay easily but we did eat at Victoria and Albert's once!
Next year we intend to get three visits out of our AP and so will probably get the DDE again.

From what I've read on the boards, most folks from the UK tend to take extended vacatons when they come to the US, so it very well may be worth it for a single trip. If you plan at least 10 days in the parks, the AP could work well for you...and the DDE will save a nice chunk of change. Also, if you happen to be DVC members you'll get a nice discount on the AP.

We're using the DDE card this time (we got one AP to be able to get the card). We're going with three other adults and our usual dinner bill at WDW is approx. $200-250 for the five of us, so it'll save us money on our eight day trip. We're also doing HDDR and on the last show (at 9:30 pm) you can use the card so we're saving $50 for that dinner (which is basically someone gets to eat for free). It's a good deal if you factor in how much extra it'll cost for the pass and that the DDE card is $75. It's worth it for us!

We recently came back from a 10 day stay at wdw. We used an AP for one of us, as well as the DDE, which we purchased from South Africa by phone. We were two adults and two children, used it almost everyday for meals, as well as got entrance to Pleasure Island at half price for my husband and I. I can say we recuperated the $50 cost after 4 days.

The DDE was a great buy. The amount we saved through the AP discounts on the resort (GF) for the 10 nights - and the entrance for the parks) was greater than the cost of the AP itself. In conclusion: a great deal!

I'm planning on getting an AP and DDE for my next trip, late Oct 2006, haven't finalized the dates yet, and then go again early Oct 2007, so I can use it both, two week trips.
