If we buy a DDE card June 1, 2008, when does it expire? Does it matter as far as the DDE card is concerned that I'm buying it with only three weeks left on my AP? I'm not exactly sure about my travel plans beyond this June trip so I'm not sure when I'll buy another AP. Most likely it'll be June of 2009 unless I make another winter trip.
AP strategies and efficient use of DVC points make for interesting planning, suddenly I'm thinking two years down the road, not that that bothers me mind you! Having the DVC and AP's makes it much easier to talk my wife into more WDW trips!! "Honey, you know we could go for a few nights and it'll just cost us a few points to stay in a studio and our tickets are already paid for." How many times have you said that to your spouse?

As far as I know, you can buy the DDE at any point in time, as long as your AP is valid.

It will be good for a year (maybe a little longer), whether your AP expires or not.

I purchased mine at Guest Services in Downtown Disney on Feb. 25 of this year and the expiration is March 31, 2009. Hope this helps with your decision.

I believe you are supposed to have a valid AP when using DDE but I was only asked once to see my pass. It just depends if you are willing to take the chance.

The last time we purchased a DDE... the cutoff was the 7th day of the month (if I remember right). Prior to the 7th... it expired the next year on the last day of the current month. After the 7th... it expired the last day of the next month. When you call... ask what current cut-off day they are currently using.
