*DDE Question - Another, but Different, Expiration Question...

At least, I hope it is different. I just did a search and couldn't find my answer...

I am going leaving for the World on September 30. I am trying to time the ordering of my DDE pass, to get the best use out of it. It SOUNDS like it is taking about 3 weeks for the DDE card to arrive, currently. I would like an October 31st expiration date...

Stay with me here - I know this is really involved!

The question is, if I order prior to September 1st, will the card still have an October expiration, since it is expected that I will get it in October, or should I be waiting until September 1st to order? I really want it to be here before I go on my trip...

Does that make sense?

I spoke w/ the DDE people a week or so ago and they told me that the DDE cards will have a 13 month expiration. They usually send them out around the 2nd/3rd of the month, so if you ordered by Sept. 3rd, let's say, your card would be good until around the beginning of October of next year. Now, if you wait until October 3rd or so, your card would be good until the beginning of November of next year.

I think you can request express delivery, but I'm not sure. And if you're going to the world and order early enough, you can arrange for the card to be waiting for you at, I believe, EPCOT Guest Relations on the day you arrive. I think a lot of people waited until they got to WDW to buy the AP, then called DDE and ordered the card. Since the DDE people only work weekdays, if you arrive on Saturday, you can't call them until Monday, and you'll miss out of 2 potential dining days.

Give them a call and ask them what they think you should do. The person I spoke with was very helpful. I'm going to WDW on November 5th (Saturday) and we have a TS ressie for that night. I will probably order my DDE around Oct. 3rd or 4th and if they don't think it will get to me w/in 4 weeks, then I will request that it be waiting for me at EPCOT on Friday, so that I can just head over on Saturday and get it.

I just got off the phone with Disney and was told to order Sept 6th for an October 31st 2006 expiration.
