I am bummed, if this is true. Maybe I was not looking in the right place...but I could not find Blue Zoo or Fresh on the list of restaurants that accept the Disney Dining experience card to get 20% off!

(BTW..in case you haven't heard...this used to be available ONLY to FL residents...but now it is also available to AP holders!)

I really want to try both those restaurants...but there are so many OTHER restaurants to try that I only want to go to restaurants that accept this card...know what I mean? It would be silly not to use it.

Please...tell me I am wrong and Blue Zoo and Fresh "DO" accept DDE!!!!!

Nope.....none of the Swan and Dolphin eateries accept the DDE card.

Big River at the Boardwalk is not on the list either (not Disney owned). I think all the other restaurants in the Boardwalk area are included.

Unfortunately the restaurants at the Swan and Dolphin aren't owned by Disney and aren't obligated to participate in the discount program. Same for Big River Grille and possibly some of the restaurants at DTD... I haven't seen the list yet, but I am more than thrilled with the amount of restaurants that are participating. Gosh, there are more than 70 of them.... I probably will never eat in all of them, anyway! Although I would LOVE to try!

Thnaks for the responses folks!

Eeyore-Yes, I agree...that is kind of what we are trying to do...try every place at least once. I am sure we will get to the Dolphin and Swan restaurants, as well as the other non participating eateries as well. I don't mean to sound cheap, but if I can get 20% off and there are SO MANY restaurants I have never eaten at, well...I will go to the ones I can get my discount at first! When we go out to dinner on vacation we eat and drink like royalty, with no thought to "budgeting" EXCEPT for the fact that we know in the back of our minds that we are at least getting 20% off!

Thanks again!

Anyone know where I can see a list of participating Restaurants included in the Disney Dining Experience?

Thanks

I totally agree with the previous post. We have had the card for several years, but the non Disney restaurants dont take it so we just dont go there. I would love to try Shulas, Fresh, dine at Big River but until they start taking DDE we wont go there. Too many other choices that do.

Have to say this is a great card and we easily make up the fee with about three dinners.

The Swan/Dolphin Restaurants do offer a 20% discount to DVC Members already. There are some great eateries there, and would still visit them, even without the DDE discount, however.

Thanks for the list!

Many of the DTD restaurants offer discounts already to AP holders.
HoB offers 20%. Most others offer 10%. Well, under our FL PAPs. I assume that is the same for all WDW APs.

Blue Zoo does not offer the 20% DVC discount. Fresh did in early December, which surprised us since the "original deal" was that the discount was good at Swolphin places in existence on a certain date (don't ask me what that date was...) and Fresh opened afterward. We asked, they said, yes....end of analysis.

Here is the list of Swan/Dolphin eateries participating in the DVC Discount Program. Member Services updates their Member Perks listing periodically and Fresh is definitely included, but not Blue Zoo.

Thanks for that link, Jetsfan. i was hoping to see the counter service restaurants at WL and AKL now included, but not yet!

One thing I think is different between the 20% off w/DDE and the 20% off with DVC is that DDE gets you 20% off beverages (alcohol) and I guess DVC doesn't? Is that the case?

Just remember, if the resort has a sit-down restaurant they will not offer the DDE discount at the quick service/counter service eateries at that location.

Looks like counter service at resorts is included only where the resort has no full-service restaurant.

That is correct. The DVC discount does not include alcoholic drinks. Guess I will be getting myself the DDE before our next trip, LOL! :smooth:

Sorry I didn't have the opportunity to respond sooner but Fresh gave us the DDE discount twice in DEC once around the 2nd and once on the 19th. When my DD and I went on the 2nd I casually asked the waiter if they gave the discount?, even though it wasn't on the list, and to my surprise he responded with yes! So when we went on the 19th, with DD, DH and DDad I gave the waitress my DDE card and she brought back the adjusted check and DDad paid! It is worht the try!

Thanks for your post, Longsx! That is exactly the kind of info I was hoping to dig up! Now I am DEFINITELY going to breakfast at Fresh! I mean, even if they do not take the card...it is just breakfast, right? At dinner I always have cocktails, apps and dessert so those bills can really get up there! But breakfast would be a great time to try using the card at a place not listed.

I think it would not hurt to show that card anywhere you go. They may take 20% off as a courtesy thing.

Thanks again! :jumping4:
