DDE for those with APs

I am not sure if this is the right forum but, here goes. How do I get DDE? Did I have to buy it when I bought my AP? When making ADRs do I have to tell the CM that I have DDE? How long is DDE good for? Thanks.

The DDE is a seperate purchase from your AP. There is another phone number to call for the DDE, I don't have it, but I know that it is available on the allearsnet website, that is where I got it from. The card is good for one year and the cost is $60 (I think).

I believe also that you can also pick up a temporary letter at Epcot Guest relations ( the one on the outside toward the bus stop)

And yes, when you order they will ask when you are coming to WDW and if it is within a few weeks, they will leave a temporary letter at the guest relations window at Epcot.

You may have learned this by now through the link but the DDE is in general only good at Disney owned full service restaurants and lounges. There are exceptions like the counter service spots at AK since there are no TS restaurants there as well as the food courts at those resorts that don't have a TS option.

We purchased our DDE for our March trip about 3/8. When we got there on March 2/22 the temporary card was waiting for us at Guest Relations (the one outside the park, not the one inside). A few weeks later our permanent card arrived and it is good through April 2007, so we end up getting 11 months (and three trips) out of it.

Please do remember to tip based on the full amount before discount, not the lower amount (in fairness to the wait staff)

It worked well and the discount applies to alcoholic drinks as well.
