How does the DDE card work for parties of 6 or more? I understand that the card will apply for the holder and up to 3 guests. If we are a larger group will we need seperate checks? Or will Disney apply it to the 3 cheapest other people on the bill? We will be a group of at least 4 adults and 2 children, so would it apply to me, 1 other adult, and the 2 children? And would it be worth having in that case? I am a first time AP holder, so I am clueless! Thanks for your help!!! :wave2:

maybe the rules haev changed but we used this for a party of 12 in October, we had two DDE cards, mine and DH's and they took 20% off the entire party.

I thought it was good for up to 9 people?? :confused3
Maybe not. Someone should be able to tell you. Or go to allears.net she has a good explanation of the plan there.

Hi everyone. We're seriously thinking of getting the DDE card for our next trip. On Deb's site she says "members receive a 20% discount on all food and beverage for up to 10 people at participating table-service Disney restaurants." Does anyone know if this is "all" people at the table or just family members? My DH always treats everyone in our party to one nice dinner. Usually this is just our grown children and their spouses but next trip our son in law's brother and family will also be with us. Will the discount include them as well if everything is on my DH's check? And is this card open for all Disney guests to buy or do you have to be AP holders? Thanks to all for any help.

...ooops, forgot my other question LoL Can the DDE card be used for charactor meals? Thanks

Yes, all the people in your party up to 10, per the brochure they just sent me (mine expires in March) "Discount applies only to the check presented to member with valid membership card. Restrictions may apply during major holidays or special events." We used it at CG last year for a party of 6, it was the 1st time we used it and it paid for itself with just using it that one time. Now if I could decide between renewing it or going with the DDP I could sleep at night!

Thanks for your reply Alice Sr. DDE sounds like it would probably work better for us than the dining plan. Our adult children are afraid they won't get their money's worth with the DP. Having priority seating isn't required with DDE is it? And what about the charactor dining? Do you by chance know if that is included? Anyone? Thanks so much.

Sorry I don't recall if character dinners were included, we did not eat at any. I do remember that Teppanyaki and Fulton's did not take it. I looked on the brochure and they don't reference a web-site or give a list of participating restaurants which certainly leaves things open if and when they decide to make a change. ADR's are not required or at least they weren't.

Character dinners are included with the DDE.

Yes character dinners are included, and it is for up to 10 people including the card holder.

Thanks everyone. Our trip is in december so I think we should be able to get everything by then.

Yes character meals are included and PS's are not guaranteed because you have the DDE. You will have to call for your PS just like anything else.

Oops, I must have been having a blonde moment (I'm blonde, I can say that!) and not read what I thought I read. :rolleyes1 It sounds like the DDE card will save my family oodles of money. Thanks for the info! :woohoo:
