DDE, DYW, and AP...Oh My!

Ok...somebody MUST set me straight on all this!

DH has an AP, so we plan on purchasing a DDE card for $50. However, when I called CRO (yesterday) to book a "room only" the CM said that there was no such thing and that the only discount we would receive would be the normal 10% AP discount on selected restaurants. I told her that I thought this was a new program...just introduced this month and would she please find out. She put me on hold to ask around and still came back saying there was no such thing! (She was VERY nice, BTW.)

Also, she said that the Dining Your Way plan was only available to persons purchasing a "package."

What's the real scoop on all this?

You might try calling (407) 566-5858 which is the phone number for the Disney Dining Experience. They are open Monday through Friday. Unfortunately, CRO does not have all the information on the DDE. I also tried to call them last week.

The above number is only for the DDE.

I don't know why CRO would not let you book a "room only".

Oh, no...I didn't make myself clear. I booked a "room only," it was the DDE she said didn't exist.

Sorry about that! I wasn't sure and really couldn't figure out why you weren't able to book a room only!

Chip126 is correct, the DDE discount card is a separate number and separate program from CRO.

The MYW dining that CRO was talking about is Disney's new pre-paid sort of "all inclusive" meal plan. DVCers also are not allowed to book it. Personally, by looking at what the MYW plan actually includes, I think we'll like the DDE much better anyway.
