DDE counter service ?s

I'm looking for some info regarding the use of the Disney Dining Experience card at counter service locations.

Has anyone used the card at a counter service since the "new rules" regarding the automatic 18% tip have been implemented?

I'm wondering if the tip is also applied at counter service locations. Part of our next stay will be at POP and we may use the counter service there.

DDE is not accepted at many CS locations. I believe the rule of thumb used to be if there is more than 1 TS restuarants in the park you can't use the DDE at the CS places. This was last August, not sure what the rules are with the new change.

We were there in January/February (only a couple of weeks ago, but seems like a long time for me). We are DDE users and while the tip was certainly added at every TS meal and lounge, there is no tip added when using at the few counter services that accept it. We used it at the food court at Pop Century on several occassions with no problem (they did ask for an ID EVERY time, the room card was acceptable). We used it at the AK (they are the only park that offers the discount) and no problems. As others have said there is no tip added for CS meals, only TS and lounges.

I remember a discussion on this subject a few months ago and several posters have stated that they were not charged an 18% tip at the CS where DDE is accepted.

I knew it was accepted at the resort counter service (if there is not table service option available), but was concerned about the automatic gratuity being added at a location that wouldn't normally be getting "tips". Glad it's not!
