DDE and AP Activation

We are arriving Friday August 19th and not planning to go to the parks till Sunday. I want to use my DDE card Friday night, do I have to activate my AP on Friday or can I wait till Sunday?

If you have an AP voucher, you can use that to order the DDE. It does not need to be activated first. If you have the voucher, I would call late July so that you can get the letter in the mail and don't have to go to Epcot to pick it up.

They can only be purchased over the phone or by fax/mail, not in person. If you call by a certain time (I think 4:30pm), they will have the temporary letter at Guest Relations in the front of Epcot by 5:30 (I think, not positive on the times). The DDE office is only open Monday to Friday. If you are not a Florida Resident, you must have an AP or AP voucher in hand to order the DDE. They will ask for the numbers off it.

You can no longer get a DDE letter in the mail. Instead, you have to pick it up at Guest Services outside Epcot. We activated our AP's at the same time (May 21st). Your AP has to be activated to collect it. Oh...and we didn't order ours until the afternoon before we collected it!! We really didn't expect it to be ready until the following Monday. Boy, were we pleased! We got the cost back within 2 days.
