DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Sounds like you had a pretty good time. :)
We had a good time. Visiting friends is always fun. We saw the Disney firworks in the distance, but they only lasted a minute or so. The ones at their resort went on for a long time. I like fireworks, so it was good. The sleep deprivation wasn't so good. I wake up at 5am normally, so 1am made it a long day. Went to bed early last night so caught up a little, but still kinda jet laggish feeling today.

Heh. Going to bed around 12 or 1am and getting up at 5am is my norm. Not every day... but... it's there. Other days are better... other days are worse. Like yesterday/today.

Funny...
I almost said something about I'm not like pkondz where I can function on little/no sleep often.
I honestly don't know how you do it. When I was younger, I could go 24-48 hours no problem. Not now. After about 18 hours I tend to get slangry.
(You've heard of hangry? Its cousin)

Start of meeting season for me and they are all 1/2-day too long. 3 day should be 2.5. 2 day should be 1.5. 1 day should be half and don't even bother with a 1/2-day meeting. At least if the weather holds I can try to find some new geocaches in the different locations. Not a noble goal but something to shoot for. There are 120 counties in the state and I hope to hit every county at least once before I am done here. Theoretically I can leave in 13 years but budget cuts/bankruptcy of social security/unforeseen circumstances can all play a role in that. I've got my third of the state already covered but Norm's side is more of a challenge.

Is it Monday morning? I'm debating on going to work.

Odd... this year doesn't feel any different from the last one yet. Must be a glitch in the Matrix.

Agree. Time to reboot this.

From your extensive experience of West Ham fans? So me?

No. I saw a Premier League commercial with a guy advocating to be a West Ham fan. He seemed just like you. And, since it was on tv, it must be true.

For me personally, since I can have a good time with or without alcohol, just tends to be cheaper without.

True, but you can say that about most anything. I can have a good time with or without Disney, just tends to be cheaper without. And then, there is Ron's post below ...

.The firework show at WDW was incredible had front row, oh wait:scratchin oh that was at my house amazing where you think you are after 6hrs of rum and cokes:drinking1:rotfl2::laughing::lmao:

Happy New Year to you as well. Hope the Castle stopped spinning yesterday.

I've been to many counties, or at least driven thru them. I may pull up a map and count to see. For those not in KY, our counties are geographically smaller than other states. TN has less than 100 counties.

Morning Guys.

I'm still sitting at home enjoying a coffee, hope all of you that have returned to work are having a good time. Officially we are still closed but I have a little bit of work today and tomorrow. Tonight I have to visit a rink for a Team NB hockey practice and tomorrow I have to visit a skill hill for the Team NB Alpine team selection. If they were both in the same place it would be fantastic.

Have a good one all.

Top O the Mornin Dads! At leas coming back to work it's on a Wednesday so only a 3 day week. Short week next week by a day as I head to DDCC next Friday. DD and SIL headed out back to DC this morning and DS heads back to school this weekend so the holidays are done and back to just me and DW. Have a good week back to working guys.
UK won the Citrus Bowl over Penn State. It's been a really long time. What a great win.
Congrats on the win - wasn't sure if you would be pulling for UK since you are a L'ville guy.

My wife and I found out this New Year's that we really struggle the next day after staying up till midnight. I guess we're just old.

This is true of every meeting, ever.

Absolutely sucked going back to work today. I need another vacation.

Congrats on the win - wasn't sure if you would be pulling for UK since you are a L'ville guy.

I'm the only person in the world who can be a fan of both, and not cheer for the demise of one team - unless they play each other.

.

Guess? Yeah, you're old.

I may be in need of counseling soon:rolleyes1, way too many days off during the last week and I got bored, I already had 3 days in Feb booked, now I have 5 days in April , and I just booked 12 days in August. I can't make any ADR's or events for August yet, But on the other trips I have ADR's for The Boathouse, Shula's & O'hanas and Up Close With Rhino's as a event. I already have things planed for August if I'm fast enough on the ressies:tiptoe:. I have go to work to support my Disney habit:yay::rotfl2:There are 2 maybe even 3 more trips besides these for the year:scared1::scratchin. Weird thing is I don't get any complaints from my wife or son:confused3. You would think they would be sick of it by now:scratchin:lmao:. I'm glad I can get my money worth out of the AP's:thumbsup2

I really like the boathouse and Shulas. I’m out there in August as well.
