DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
But surely it'll be in place by Christmas.

I can guarantee that.

I didn't think anyone ever said that. Shows what I know.

I said it.

Once.

Never again.

Add in that once they actually close up the attractions that SW-Land and TS-Land will be replacing, there won't be many other things available to dissipate what crowds do show up. Even at rope drop, Sunset Blvd could become a clogged nightmare.

::yes::

But now they've added "Spicy Chicken Fries" to the menu.
now, don't that just sound enticing?

Wow! Really?

NO!!!

Today should be a better day than yesterday. It was relatively cool last night so I decompressed out on the deck. A cocktail and Netfix made for a nice evening. The kid is doing OK, we are trying to get her into see her primary later in the week for a follow-up. As long as it doesn't get any worse over the next few days, she should be as good as new.

Hope Monday passes uneventfully for everyone.

Morning gents.
I won't say "good" morning. 'cause it ain't.

I will never, ever go to Burger King again.
Swear to God.

Dont you have a 5Guys nearby? Probably not. Still eat fast food occasionally but go more for the "boutique" places like that. Hope it settled down.

Morning Gents!

Hope Carl and the Pirate Princess are doing better today.

Looks like we are stuck in our first heatwave of the summer, another day that will be over 100F with the humidex. It was crazy hot for DS's game yesterday afternoon; a game they came a way with a 2-2 tie and they didn't deserve it. Was a bit cooler for me game (4-0 win) but came away with a slightly pulled calf muscle. Magic bag at the desk this morning to take some swelling down.

Have a good one!

Tie is better than a loss. The other team is probably mad they let the game away. Good luck with the calf muscle.

Now cut that out!
That’s not good at all.
Again, may the healing be rapid.

What seems to have caused this, if I may ask?

They aren't sure. Could have started with a slight respiratory infection to sleeping on it wrong.

Good morning all. Another 700 miles of driving this week, and I won't be any closer to WDW. Budget meeting this weekend and we decided to keep the beach trip as opposed to adding a week at WDW.

Sorry about skipping the WDW add on but beach trips are good.

We do... just not close enough to go to on a work dinner break.

If anyone is looking the DIS youtube channel has a bunch of good videos from D23. They covered alot that was going on and got some pretty good videos.

Spent the afternoon emptying out the closet under the stairs. Felt like an archeologist. Some of that crap was there since the mid 90's. Tons thrown out but others in bags I have yet to explore. Among the jewels so far are pristine maps from Epcot and the MK from 6/98, china from the Italy pavilion and two bags of Disney mugs. Have to go through it all tonight but I am sure there are some interesting finds to be discovered.

Super excited about Star Wars land, cant wait to see more details. They said the new Star Tours would be coming soon.
I may be in the minority here but Animal Kingdom was already an all day park for us because my girls love animals. Avatar may make it a 2 day park, looking forward to it as well.

Just stopping by as I was missing the days of yore when everyone was chatting over here. Will catch up on things and the join in on some of the conversations.

What? You don't cut your chicken into fry like shapes, batter, and deep fry them? I'm sure they are fresh and 100% chicken.

And, we've never been to Orange Beach. But, it is still too far away from wdw to consider a retirement option. If we had not had those two Disney days with the outlaw vacation in June, I probably would have gone to WDW. Been going at least once annually since 2005.

I agree that AK is a whole park day. And, while I enjoy the other rides, I could probably just go on Kilomanjari Safaris all day long. Those sure are great animatronix. :lmao:

I could do without the poaching story and just watch the animals and the scenery, even if some are concrete.

'Morning all...
One day down, four to go.

But no one said which Christmas.
Technically it will be done by Tuesday; just not this one.

The grand loop-hole that can be built into any long term project…

They aren't sure. Could have started with a slight respiratory infection to sleeping on it wrong.

“Not sure” is an unusual response from any doctor… puzzling.
May this truly be minor and may it get gone quickly.

I’ll have to look around for this as I was unaware there was a DIS channel on YouTube.
Not surprising though, I spend little to no time rummaging around on The Tube in the first place.

 I like the image there Norm.

So, CJ… find anything else interesting and more importantly, What’ch you going to do with all the newly discovered space that’s hidden away in a quiet and unobtrusive corner of the house; might make for a good spot to “store” annoying or troubling “things” that don’t need to be found.

New Star Tours?
Missed that tidbit. Are they talking about new and added scenes or a more involved kind of change?

ust stopping by as I was missing the days of yore when everyone was chatting over here. Will catch up on things and the join in on some of the conversations.

We’re still here.
Just keep on dropping by.

I’m sure they contain an amount of “something” that may have once been inside a chicken.

Morning Men.

Another scorcher here but I will be inside listening to the women who work for me complain about how cold the office is.

have a good one.

Morning folks. Much, much cooler today.
Went from 110F/44C humidex (actual temp 95F/35C) down this morning to 45F/8C.

A bit of a jump.

Of course I do. Who wouldn't???

:lmao: Perfect!

@cj9200, how's the pirate princess doing?

:rotfl:Yeah; could have used a few more fake ones last time we rode; there were 4-5 no shows.
I missed the poaching story they had gotten rid of it our last trip.

New Star Tours?

Just new scenes from the new movies. Supposed to start before the Episode VII comes out.

Top O the Morning Dads!

Nice to hear from you again, welcome back.

Yeah, boyfriends

Adding a scene from Episode VII. Additional SW changes coming short term are Launch Bay and Hyperspace Mountain (limited time). Here's link about this stuff:

The theme song was running through my head as I opened stuff up.

She goes to see her Primary today for a follow up. We will see if the doc can offer any further illumination on how she is doing.

I got tired of paying a storage space so I am clearing out old junk to put in less older junk. I do have a decent yard so plenty of space to hide the bodies. In addition to the maps, there were some interesting mugs including the old resort specific ones and a 25th Anniversary mug. Checked on E-Bay and could get $6.00 for each map and the 25th mug. Time to book that cruise.

Found 4 pasta plates as part of the China from Italy so we had to have this for dinner...

Also found a bag of stuff containing birthday presents for DD from her mom. She would often buy things ahead of time and squrirrel them away to be given out later. Included was a birthday card.

That is crazy weather. Here we only get hot, hotter and hottest. That and afternoon showers.

Thanks guys for the inquires on the kid. She is doing better and has less pain in her chest.

Happy Tuesday. The tumbler is driving well after the new transmission and tune up. I managed to get it up to 80 mph a few times to test it. We may even take it on vacation as the dds prefer it to the Camry for room and comfort.

Just stopping by as I was missing the days of yore when everyone was chatting over here. Will catch up on things and the join in on some of the conversations.

The important thing is I am still posting over here. :sad1:

Stop by anytime.

.

I try to ride it stand by when park opens and then with a FP. Two rides early in the AM seem to have more active animals .

Near Gulf Shores, AL.

That's our plan for next trip. We did a FP right after Tusker House b'fast; it was about 30-45 min after rope drop; wanted to do it again but ran out of time.

Eating at Tusker House makes it even better, especially if you're willing to get there before the park opens for the ADR. Tusker House is right by the entrance to the safari ride. I watched the herd running towards us one day from that spot.

Have not tried Tusker House in ages. How did you like it when you are there?
