Day 14

What is the best sound in the world? Right now, it is silence. Both dds and DW went back to work today. I have been just sitting on the couch, drinking coffee, and enjoying the calm. However, there is a storm outside and we are getting snow. I am going to enjoy the rare opportunity to take a nap in the afternoon without fear of yelling children. Y'll have a good day.

Morning Gents I have one day back at work before I get my weekend. If all works out correctly the Wife and I will get to see Saving Mr. Banks. We will see though.

Not even going to try for midnight. New Years has to be one of my least favorite holidays...cold, late, and dark.

We just went to bed a little later than normal we had the tv on.

Day 13

Happy New Year. We took down our Christmas tree and decorations yesterday, went to Mass, and celebrated the new year with pizza and mimosas. We only managed the ET new year's, but that was close enough. The announcer said that it is a "bucket list" thing to be in time square for NYE celebration. I read an article where some for those folks get there in the AM and wear diapers so they don't lose there place in the party. That and all the cold weather doesn't sound fun to me.

We were talking about that same thing. Our final verdict was that it would never happen.... we have no desire to do it and no way would we be willing to wear a diaper to do it. But thats us.

Good morning gents! Back at work today as it seems many are. At least tomorrow is Friday. Last couple of days the family of 4 will be together for a bit as DD heads back to school on Sunday so looking forward to a couple more family of 4 outing before all get going in different directions again. Have a good one and all enjoy the lovely weather most are having - though only flurries, snow in Nashville today.

Good morning gentlemen. Snowing here and I'm at work. Missed a few days again and going back to catch up since everyone else was smart enough o stay home today. Had a few inches already at 5AM this morning. Supposed to slow down later this afternoon and then start up again tonight. Looks like I'll be staying home tomorrow. You know…..fool me once……

I do 75% of the grocery shopping. So yea I do know the prices. Don't judge me!

I'm judging. I do the major shopping for us 2x/month. For meats and fresh meals, I stop at the butchery on the way home to make sure everything is fresh. Even doing so, I have to admit I am not really all that up to date on what is a good or bad price.

Tim, I do all of the grocery shopping for us as well. One, I'm way faster at it then DW - I can leave and be back within an hour. Second, I stick to the list 99% of the time. I like knowing where the money is going. I think we wasted a crap load buying stupid stuff at the store.

Ahhh….The LIST. I buy exactly what's on the list to make sure I don't have to explain the rest.

Day 12 New Year's Eve Ownage.

Well, after a brief nerf gun saga yesterday, oldest dd used her sewing machine that she rceived for Christmas to make some pillows. She also baked a cake from dry ingredients. I told her the next time, she needed to get the eggs from the chicken house, grind up her own flour, shuck her own sugar cane, and who the heck knows where baking powder comes from. Still, we had fun and the cake tasted good. DW made dentist appointments for the dds today. I guess it is better today than tomorrow when they are hungover.

I hope the girls have recovered from the hangover. With the snow, plans to bake with DD seem to be in the works for tomorrow. I refuse to drive into work two days in a row when it is snowing.

Saw "Saving Mr. Banks" last night with DD. It was an excellent movie. DD enjoyed it, but didn't get all of the symbolism. We'll watch it again when it comes out on Blueray and she can try again.

Lots of working or not working going on. I'm in the office even though we are closed, but it is a 5 minute walk. I don't have the heat on at the house either until the family returns. Radiant ceiling heat isn't the most efficient and electric rates are high.
