DIS Dads DDC XXV: It’s a Special Holiday Episode of the DISDad’s Club

That stinks. We are now what? 1-3 for meet ups. I did invite you to drive down to the Keys for lunch the last time you were down. Could postpone the trip for a day but the Kid wouldn't like it. Or you could get in the car and drive to Orlando. I'll buy.

Admittedly I had thought about that, but my meetings on Thursday don't end until late and then I have early meetings Friday with a 2pm return flight out of Miami. The 3+ hours drive each way was a bit of a hurdle.

The game was a toss up for me. DD picked ND in our wager so I have to go with Bama. Its only a buck so my enthusiasm will not be overwhelming.

That insightful quote is attributed to Karl, Richard, or Groucho Marx- it doesn't really matter which one. The point is that a long time ago, a young man had a dream of owning a DVC contract and took to the interwebs to do research. That research took him to the disboards where he perchance stumbled upon an online group of some 350 or so guys who shared a love of family, Disney and fart jokes. After watching from the sidelines for a few weeks, that young man decided to get in the game and join this club.

Timing it just right to get the coveted membership #400, our hero cautiously observed his new surroundings and learned the habits of his new neighbors. Some liked beer, some could quote movies as well as he could, but all liked bacon. Over time- and life's ups and downs, our hero came to learn what hundreds before and after him would also learn: That between the trip reports, fantasy leagues and comparing different bourbons, there was a real community here that is not often found online or in person. And despite the fact that of all the regulars in the club our hero was surely the slowest to get to post #1000, he values this group and looks forward to wasting his company's money on many, many more hours of reading and posting.

To the next thousand posts (Coming March 2018)!! I'll see some of you in a few days, and I'll see the rest of you at the DDC 2014!

Not quite texting time here. I just went through and test packed my suitcase. Need a couple things out of the laundry but otherwise I'm done. Now I just need to help DW fit everything into her carryon stuff.

At least was lunch any good? Or didn't they feed you. They fed us mostly crap.
We had one guy fall asleep during the trial. The judge had to interrupt the Prosecutor to point that out to her..

No lunch. On your own. Home from a super long ordeal. I made it to the final 30 where then 14 were allegedly drawn at random. I didn't make the final cut. I thought the lawyers got their additional strikes, which I was either cut or have terrible luck. Either way, I have to go to work tomorrow.

I got a PINtoday...basicly it's the same offer out there, only extended to include our times...might bite, although we really wanted Free Dining.

Might take the offer and stick to the POP, but going to see if we'd get penalized if a better offer came along and we changed it. If we can get free dining, we figure we could upgrade to Riverside, and still save a couple hundred.

At jury pool. 12% chance I'll get picked. I am hoping so. Attorneys have expensive suits, so maybe I can get a big bribe.

You up for jury duty again? I've never been called for it. Mom being mom, would love to get a good juicy crime trial. She'd have made it on a good arson/murder case if half the firefighters didn;t know her through Dad.
