Fatigued by listening to the news, tonight is TCM WWll movie night. Operation Tokyo with Carry Grant is on and then one of my favorites Battleground. Nice break from current reality.

Fatigued here too. Watching Full House with the kids and getting ready to go get icecream for the family.

I posted a scuba question for you or other disdads that dive on the main thread.

Earl of Sandwich is a must each trip for us. I love the Hawaiian Sandwich and the Tomato soup is great too!!!:thumbsup2 Anohter plus is that compared to normal Disney prices it is cheap!!!

Earl of Sandwich is a must eat in our family too.

I thought I read somewhere that there is a lounge or balcony only available for dvc members at BLT, is that right?

So you don't know how it ends?
They only wrote one script for that show and just reworked it for each episode.

M*A*S*H* marathon here when the kids go to bed.

Multi quote from my Droid. It ain't that hard. Even a Canadian should be able to do it.

I know it's not billed as an awesome MNF game but happy to watch the Titans on Monday night for a change

Man, anytime I hear people talk about Newtown, I get chills and hard not to choke up

Wow, this public school stuff isn't sounding like a good idea for next year lol, DD will be going to the same school I did, hopefully she gets more out of it then I do, good luck with this, I've heard schools can be really frustrating for parents, I can't wait!!!

It doesn't matter whether it is Private or Public school. The administration caters to the wealthy families and/or the moms that volunteer time. Stratification hits in third grade if not sooner. Fortunately, my dds kind of move between the class systems without much care. Some parents will refuse to acknowledge other parents because they don't have enough money, are too fat, etc.

Yes, there is TOTWL - Top of the World Lounge for BLT guests. At the evening, forget exact time, you go to front desk who may or may not check your card and then you go to only one North side elevator where CM will take you to the top. TOTWL has drinks, finger foods, and terrible service. You can also stay outside on the terrace, but there is no drink or food service. They play the Wishes music.

What makes it frustrating is we barely interact with their teachers, I drop off to a before school program, DW picks up from afterschool. So we can't deal with issues like thid first hand. I can't any more time off work, I've lost 4 days for medical issues recently, DW has taken some time off too to help me plus kid's appointments, can't take any more time away. It makes me ill to think that due to thios screw-up we lose out on an ipad we legitimately won. (I don;t think it's going to work out, hard to prove she had it, although DW can really dig her heels in when angry)

But what can you do? We are both working parents..

Thank you, I read on the boards, I should give it about 2 weeks before calling member services to set up my online account, does that sound about right?

I got something in the mail with a temporary code.

Not really

Just jealous you didn't think of it.

Beverly. Teachers claimed they did not know Audrey earned the penguin, so they gave it to a boy who raised more money. Odds are looking good that the "fish" will disappear and we lose out on the ipod. DW and I are really P.O'd right now. She is going to work tomorrow on the company and the principal about this. School is having their 1 day strike tomorrow, so no school for the kids, DW is staying home with the kids and has time to do it. Between this and her school pictures misplaced, I am getting a little peeved at how the kindergarten is going.

My youngest dd's kindergarten teacher recommended holding dd back in school because she had a late birthday and would go thru puberty later than her friends. I laughed at her and we obviously did not listen. Hang in there, it does get better.

I fully understand, I will have to do that as well, school hours never work out with work hours , so before and after care is all I can do, my mom works at home so luckily she will be my saving grace if anythings needed while I'm at work

Wow seriously? That is funny, it's scary that some of these teachers are teaching kids, but there are a handful of really great teacher too

Answered as best I could. I say go for it. And EOS is a must eat for us. Give me an Original.

The old school has very much like that, there seems to be less of it here, but there is a certain disdain for parents who use before/afterschool programs, not spending enough time with their kids etc, bad parents etc. We could not survive the lack of income if one of us were to quit.

See my original comment. Both DW and I have taken off time to deal with the school as well as sending teachers email. It may help a little, but not very much. It is just preparing them for real life.

Yeah, Amelia started Junior Kindergarten at age 3, due to her late birthday, we wondered if that factored into her slow start.

I just don't like the fact they do not have a better grip on what is happening. They need to get better organized, for example, we only get things sent home once a week (Fridays)...the rest of the week is guessing games.

Yes, we have had some good teachers along the way which makes it worthwhile. Sometimes it is new teachers with lots of energy and sometimes the older ones who have experience.

It is definitely a money thing at our school. Fortunately, this is oldest's last year but we still have two more years with youngest.

My parents are right close by, and both retired, but they both deal with a lot of doctors appointments etc. Plus, dad is still going through chemo, and with a weakened immune system, can't take the girls if any get sick. They were supposed to look after them tomorrrow with the strike going on, but we cancelled with Audrey out sick, DW is taking the day off.
