Okay now to serious business. One of my brothers in law went into full cardiac arrest this morning on the job site. He is now on a heart lung machine and unresponsive. They are doing some form of cooling and warming to try and bring the body back on line but it doesn't look good . Forty years of alcohol abuse and smoking have done their damage.

Just got an update, no change other than the discovery of bleeding ulcers. Sheesh. It may make me a terrible human being but this just pisses me off. This guy had talent. He could build anything from a house to decorative woodwork, whatever. What a waste. And this isn't the first time either. 14 years ago he was dead on the table after being hospitalized for an alcohol induced psychotic episode but they were able to bring him back. He was put in rehab but he signed himself out without finishing and went right back to his old ways. I'm surprised he lasted this long.

I gave up trying years ago, so I say welcome to the club. I'm just measuring milestones now - 2 years for my 100% health insurance eligible and 7 more years for retirement. Yes, that's 9 more years of dreadful work, but I just have to keep that aim for that finish line. And, I have to hope that states don't decide to follow the Detroit model, declare bankruptcies on their constitutionally guaranteed retirement benefits, and keep their $billion dollar art collections and airplanes.

Holy cow...I am getting too old for this "On Call" garbage! Once again I worked day evening and midnight yesterday and had about an hour of sleep before I had to go in again at 8 this morning. I left at 1 and crashed for a few hours before the k ids got home from school. Now, I feel like I am in a daze. So, I ca't be held responsible for anything I post here or on facebook
