Looks like we might be heading to Busch Gardens this afternoon if anyone wants to meet up. :wave2:

‘Morning all…
Work has been interfering with my Dis time.
Stupid work!

It’s a bit late now, but Mark won the Internet yesterday…
We took our daughter to the orthodontist last week. After seeing what braces will cost, I think we're just going to tell people she's British.
:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Hello again, guys. I've seen some of you over on the boards at DISDads.com (GoofyDadDoug) and in the Facebook group, so I'm checking in here as well.

For those who haven't checked in over at DISDads in the past week or so, I'll share a bit about myself here as well.

My name is Doug, and I'm a 44 year old Disney geek from Virginia. My wife and I have 2 sons, ages 9 and 11 and we've been making trips to WDW since 2010. Although we've only had 3 full trips (and a single "adults" day mixed in there) I feel like we've been visiting for a lifetime as it simply feels like home. I'm usually either planning our next WDW trip, on a WDW trip, or convincing my wife that we need to start planning again! At all times, I'm browsing the latest information and looking deeper into the "World" as we know it. My wife is convinced that if my I.T. career ever dries up I'll have to try my hand at being a Disney travel agent as our friends and family usually call me with their WDW questions. I don't know it all, but I enjoy looking for the answers.

Welcome to our corner of the operation.
Grab a beer and join in!

Well DS is in his first year of middle school. He announced to us last night that there is a girl he likes and he managed to get her as a lab partner. He said he strategical sat near her in class knowing that partners were going to be picked yesterday. When the teacher announced that it was time to pick partners he immediately turned to her and said "I don't feel like moving so we should probably just be partners." Smooth move buddy.

Subtle…
And nicely done.

I responded to the Mom and told her no member number, without a member.

Well not really, I was nice, but not that's nice.

Nice… no, but funny :lmao:
(And you never cut funny)

I can't believe I'm actually posting this... but I just booked a trip to the World for Dec 8 - 13! I'm so stoked! I must have caught DW in a GOOD mood today :cool1:
There's some bling involved here, I just know it...:rolleyes1:lmao:

:rotfl2: That’s pretty much how all deals get done.

Oh, and Congrats Don!
Should be a great time to be down there. :thumbsup2

Hmmm... what's in it for me? :confused3 :lmao:

The same nothing that you get in abundance from me.

Great. I called her from work. "Anna, this is Daddy. Would you want to go on a date with me tonight? Great! I'll pick you up around 5:30." When I got home I sneaked in to the yard, clipped a nice flower and went to the front door to ring the door bell. We never use the front door so I thought that would be special. My cutie was all cleaned up and wearing a nice dress. She loved the flower even though she knew exactly where it came from. Mom took our picture, put the flower in a vase, and off we went. First stop Walmart. We returned a few things got her supplies and wandered the toy and game aisles and just chatted. Then to Barnes and Noble to browse books and buy her a treat. We sat down in the Starbucks in there and each had a Reeses peanut butter cup cookie and just talked. Took her home and asked if she would want to go on another date sometime to which she said yes. All in all a good start. There's definitely something special about doing stuff with just one kid at a time.

Excellent sir…
Most excellent.

:rotfl2: You could... but it would be costly! :rotfl:

Let's see... looks like about 20 hours driving round trip. About 70 gallons of diesel fuel... so somewhere around $275. Yeah, I guess that is just a little bit cost prohibitive. :rotfl:

Actually... I was thinking more planes than automobiles. :lmao:

Good morning gents! Happy Friday - thank the maker, and looking forward to a good weekend for all. Have not been here since Monday due to travel but glad to be back home as of last night. DS has passed all tests, received is official drivers license this week and I have been billed by insurance for adding a 16 year old boy to the policy  Proud of him none the less.

I'm glad to have found this group of dads, and I've enjoyed the chats and podcasts so far.

I'd like to 'make it official' and add my name to the list of dads - and see what number we're up to now, so if you would lay it on me.

Hope to see you guys here, there and at WDW in the near future.
Welcome aboard - you'll fit right in

Well done and congrats, great time of year to go.

It must be in the stars, or Walt looking out for us, as I caught DW at the right point last night after coming home from a business trip for going in early March during DS spring break. With DD going off to college this fall and the kids breaks now not lining up thought it would be nice for us to go with just DS (definately the bigger DIS of the two kids) and she said sure why not and started singing DIS tunes :confused3 She did state that Aulani in the summer with the whole family was a must and if our DVC points did not work out for March at a DVC resort we should think about the Poly :confused3 I then figured I was on a roll and tossed out that we were thinking about adding additional DVC points this year as we have been talking about increasing frequency of trips as the kids schedules are not always gonna line up and some other reasons so if we did that we would be more than covered for next year and DW replied with "that's right" lets just get DD into school and look at adding points :confused3 DS was a witness to all of this and through his giant grin stated that "we have now fully converted her"pixiedust:
WDW trip is in the single digits now, yeah baby:cool1:
:thumbsup2
Good morning to you all....

Got a very important email....our TA has told us our Mickey Mail has arrived !!!:cool1::cool1::yay: We'll be picking that up tomorrow..
:thumbsup2

Only $657 round trip from IND to Norfolk... and you'd be here by 4:30 :cool1:

Thanks! And yes... it really is a good time to go. This will be the second time we get to go at this time of the year. Not so good for swimming, but low crowds and temps are awesome!

Wow! and yes... Walt must have been working overtime this week :rotfl:
Cheers to being fully converted :wizard:

Sounds great! The kids definitely love it when they have your full attention. :thumbsup2

:woohoo::cool1:

Awesome. Don't worry, I'll still let you guys use it.

Proof.... Not good at posting photos. Sorry if this is too big.

On a completely related note, my daughter will be locked up from the age of 9 until she turns 40. Either that or we'll send her to Canada for that time period. Same thing.

I'm with you Paul. We have been feverishly looking into all girls schools and convents. I'll send you the list.:thumbsup2

Jim (and others who have daughters around his age) keep him away from her. Your son has smooth moves Ryan.

Sorry Paul but Fantasyland is in Orlando. You keep toying with that idea. Did not work for me and I would bet it will not work for you.

Yup. I got my eye on that kid. Any meet ups will start with me telling DD he has cooties and to stay away.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Your inbox must be full

I was thinking it, but not saying it. :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

WDW trip is in the single digits now, yeah baby:cool1:

Nice.:thumbsup2 => Thumb. A few weeks behind you. Please leave some for the rest of us.

Morning guys, Happy Friday

Hey David!:wave2:

Good morning to you all....

Got a very important email....our TA has told us our Mickey Mail has arrived !!!:cool1::cool1::yay: We'll be picking that up tomorrow..

Got ours last week. Still have the rental car to deal with, but everything else is all set. We go to CT this weekend and when we get back on Tuesday we start packing for WDW.

Awesome. I'll be there right after you from the 15th to the 20th. Still good crowds but not as good as yours. Wouldn't it be cool if you had some little trinket that you left hidden in one of the parks so the CMs wouldn't find it, but you told me where it was. Then when I'm there with my kids I could retrieve it and say, "Here ya go, kids. This is from one of the DisDads." Who's going right after me? I'll be in MK on the 20th and can leave something in a flower bed. Or maybe in the men's room like in the Godfather.:scratchin

Yes it would be nice if someone would leave a trinket for us to find. We'll be arriving the 21st. Just sayin':rolleyes1

Looks like we might be heading to Busch Gardens this afternoon if anyone wants to meet up. :wave2:

Love to , but I'm stuck in MA.

Morning Guys, happy Friday!

Hey Darcy! How's the weather up there?

Cool and rainy on the eastern seaboard. Apparently this summer it will either be 95 and oppressive or 65 and raining.:lmao::lmao: What I wouldn't do for an 85 degree day with no humidity.:scratchin

OK, Can I get a show of hands of Dads who have DD's age 10/11/12? My GDD is 10 and will be 11 in Sept. I have a feeling there are a lot of Dads that will rise their hands. :lmao:

Current count is seven. I know Aaron, Terry and Brian have 10/11 DD's. Bringing our total to 10. Looks like we're in for a world of hurt in just a few years. With, well you know, and, you know, but then there's THE BOY!

Congrats on the conversion and your March trip. Sounds like Aulani is open for discussion as well. We were hoping to do Aulani in the next few years as well. Have fun booking.

Congrats as well to DS. I'd lock those keys up if you plan to have the car available when you need it.:thumbsup2

Awesome. Don't worry, I'll still let you guys use it.

Thanks, I think????

Ahhhhh Canada.... The mythical land of the imaginary girlfriend.

DD9 will become DD10 in five weeks. Do you think we can get a twofer rate if we send them both????
