Soooo..... hey guys! Just doing a little weekly check-in - at least I think it's been about a week since I last did. My DIS time has dropped off dramatically. .... So if anyone has been wondering why I haven't shown up over there - that's why. It's nothing personal - I just don't have the time or energy to devote to multiple forums.

We run back and forth... so we'll keep you posted on any earth shattering news.

Thanks to everyone for concerns and well wishes for us after the wreck yesterday. Still doing fine, but DS is now telling everybody "daddy broke bus" or "daddy hit bus". If you're going to tell the story, at least get it right. I've been trying to work with him to say "the bus broke daddy's truck." Apparently that's too many words for him to put together.

But I can't help but think..WHY THE HELL IS A SCHOOL BUS DRIVER RUNNING A STOP SIGN!!??

I don't know... he was ticketed for failure to yield. He did stop though. That intersection makes me nervous, it is a 2 way stop and I see people run it all the time. I always slow down as I approach when I see another vehicle coming to the stop sign, and I did so that morning as well. When he stopped, I put my foot back on the accelerator and got back to speed and then just as I entered the intersection, he took off.

He said he never saw me... but It's a 3/4 ton pickup truck with daytime running lights, and cab lights... it's hard to miss, no pun intended. The sun would have been to his back too, so it really shouldn't have been a factor.

On a scarier note, one of the moms was talking to me who has kids on the boys team. She commented on what a nice young man my daughter has. WHAT? Seems I was mislead and the "friend" that is taking her to the prom may be more than a friend. Wish I had that info last night. I would have been a lot tougher on the kid.

Uh oh... sounds like you do need to use the WWFD method in dealing with this one.

Happy Friday everyone. Hope all is well. My back is feeling better, or at least better enough to not return to dr. I am scheduled to ref 4 soccer games this weekend, so we'll see if it holds up. Finished cleaning out emails today from vacation and home this week. Think I'll take a nap before I go home from work. Later.

This weekend, providing all goes well, DS and I are going to launch some model rockets!

This could really go either way: or

If it's too windy we might just go fishing.

OOoooorrrrrr I combine the two

"OK little buddy, when you see the bobber go underwater, press the launch button! "

Things look like they are getting back to normal here on the DIS.

I am noticing slight changes with the layout... I wonder if they did a software (or software and hardware) upgrade.

The one time it kicked out an error for me a few days ago the message said they were in the middle of a server upgrade.

On a separate note - my dermatologist cut me up pretty good this morning.

Hurts like an SOaB!

I had an excision on my temple and my back. My head hurts the worst. I have 3 stitches inside and 10 outside on my head. I didn't even bother asking how many I have on my back.

Hope I don't have to do that again for a while.

Moral of the story - USE FREAKIN' SUNSCREEN Like SPF 2,000

Now time to go lay down and sleep some of this pain away.

You are on speed dial. You and my Uncle Vito. They are going out to pick out his tux tonight. It has to match her dress of course. The kid's parents are going so now she gets grilled by his parents. "Who is that Hussy?" As advice was passed down to me from Dis Dads with older daughters consider these public service announcements to you with younger daughters.

Another weekend and I am ready for it. Weekend trip next week diving in the Keys but I am getting a bit stir crazy right now. Have to do something this weekend.

Hey cj9200 you are so lucky to have all those trip reports since 2007 with your DD17/18! I am kind of nastalgic about my DD17. I have been looking at the pics of her growing up and now I realize I should have taken more pics.

Funny but last night I was reading one of the past TR's and remembering. Guess we do that when the kids are about to leave the nest. That and make plans to party after they leave the nest. TRs are a pain to write but it is a good diary of memories of past trips.
