Heard a statistic the other day; Vasectomy's are performed 50% more often in March then any other month. The rational being that men take the 3 days recuperation time to sit on the couch and watch the NCAA tourny. Not sure if I believe this statistic or not, but I really want to.

I'll take your word for it. :scared1: :lmao:

That's my dads new shop. He just built it last year and I don't even know what we did before we had it. It is 66x80 so however many cars you can fit in those dimensions would go in there.

And Tim, you can't wash rust off.:lmao: It's a 30 year old tractor that I just bought last year. It doesn't look like much, but it is a beast. I really need to get it in the shop next winter and paint it.

66x80? Maybe I could just move in there... that is 3x bigger than my house! :lmao:

Not the Sasquatch. At Disney the tend to just stand there motionless with a strobe light behind it :rolleyes1

Very funny!

Excellent, I got an email tonight confirming I got the ressie for a cabin up north. It's at the Campground/resort where my parents stay, just around the corner from them July 15-22 :cool1: It's not Disney, but it is something I did every summer growing up plus some. Will be a lot of fun to be sure. Kids get lots of time with grandparents and swimming, and still have a place to go to when we need some space from 'em too.

Just watch out for Sasquatch, strobe light and all. Sounds like fun.

My Orangemen won! Even though I didn't have them in my bracket I am happy. Shows what I get for thinking.

Grew up in Syracuse but gave up on them in this round. Same with the Gators. Up by 6 at the half.

We pretty much have everything done that we can do at this point so this rig is done until we're ready to start working ground right before it gets planted. I had it in the shop tonight to change oil and do routine maintenance. Also, we had some parts ordered for the cultivator that just came in, so we'll probably start working on that while it is backed in there.

Very cool. Can you come over to the house and mow my yard? Or at least plant some corn?

Ouch! Today called the vet to board the dogs when we go to NY. The mutt I did not want is going to have his doghood taken away from him then. Right now he is happy as a pig in slop. He has no idea what is going to happen next week.

It looks like a beast. Forget painting it, rust adds character.

Well, CRUD!

Work has been a beverley this week and I'm too many pages behind to catch up.

On the plus side, I've only got about 57 hours until I'll be on the ground in Maui.

Just gotta get through the next day and a half of crazy then 2 weeks of relaxation! :thumbsup2

I'll toast each of you while I'm there. (Let's see, 690 / 14 days.... hmmmm) well, maybe only half of you. :rotfl2:

Maui! :thumbsup2 Sounds like a great trip!! Lately, I've been singing "Knee Deep in the Water Somewhere" on a regular basis so I'm going to have to admit to being green with envy. Have a great time!! Aloha!

But now I’m thinking about turning the route on it’s head and trying something that looks more like this…

mGulfCoastLoop.jpg

Stay tuned…
I’ve got a lot of research to do now.

Hey! This route puts you in my part of the world. Hope you have a great trip either way! Do you know the area? I used to live near Panama City and Pensacola and am near Mobile now. Let me know if you need restaurant suggestions or interesting places to visit.

Have you ever had one of those days when you're driving to work and you're getting ready to park and having serious thoughts of just turning around and going back home??

I'm so not wanting to be at work today. It doesn't help that I've been here since 7:30a and I'm stuck here till 8p tonight. :headache:

Just gotta keep telling myself....9 more days.

Single Digits!!

Speaking of Ghost stories, my brother and I were at the USS North Carolina over the weekend and did some ghost hunting with some of the TAPS (Ghost Hunters on SYFY) members. Here's a link on youtube to some evp's that we caught.

Matt

Very Cool! Would love to do something like that one day!

Love that show. In 2008 we went to the St Augustine Lighthouse and did their tour. I had an experience and it was wild. I was slightly skeptical before then even though I had seen strange things happen...that one gave me goose bumps, lol.

Will

Cool!!

My eye Dr. is a DVC member, and he told me that somewhere around 10 years ago or so they ran a special where if you bought 50 add-on points, they gave you 50 more free. I wish they'd come out with that again!!!

Me too!! That is an awesome deal!!

A couple of day’s ago the wife and I were talking about plans for this summer and I mentioned that a couple of y’all had gotten a hold of a PIN from the Land of Mouse. We both agreed that it would be better if we didn’t receive such this year as your addiction to Disney travel would likely throw any plan we were trying to make into disarray.

It’s like they have my house bugged or something…
I get home from work last night and right on top of the day’s stack of mail was a WDW mailer, with one of those bloody PINs inside. I spent the evening doing the numbers and tearing apart the calendar only to realize that I probably can’t use the blasted thing.
:headache:

But now I’m going to be compelled to completely price out every aspect of our current plans and compare them to a fully priced out trip down to the World.
:rolleyes1

Maniacal Mouse…

what a coincidence... perhaps they do have your house bugged. :scared1:

I received an email the other day that offered an extra 20 points for every 100 you bought.

not bad if you can afford to buy 100. I hope to add someday, but it will probably be 50 or less, or a resale.

It’s similar to some of the general offers out there, but includes summer dates (which is the only time I can realistically travel).

Basically its 20% of room rates at a couple of the values, or 25% at most of the moderates or 30% at a few of the Deluxe and a couple of DVC locations. If I bought tickets separate and kept to the QS sites for meals, it really would be a good deal, but…

My employer has very harsh restrictions on when I can travel, DS has school commitments that start in mid July and DW has no vacation time, so we have to factor in loss of her salary. Realistically I can only travel the third week of June and that’s about it. I already had a plan for how to use that time this year. It would become and either/or situation. If I got to WDW, I really have to cancel the other plan. That’s why I’m going to price everything in detail and see what the better deal is. I know what I’d rather do, but I need to do what’s more economical and pleases the most folks. More thought will have to go into this one

stinks to not have more freedom to travel. Good luck figuring it out!!

Here's our schedule for our week.

Sat. 31st - flight arrives around Noon - afternoon at DTD - Dinner for DW and I at Il Mulino
Sunday 1st - EPCOT - Lunch at Le Cellier
Monday 2nd - DHS - Dinner at O'Hana
Tuesday 3rd - MK - BBB at 11a - Lunch at CRT
Wednesday 4th - MK - Breakfast at Chef Mickey's
Thursday 5th - Split Day AK Morning/EPCOT Afternoon - Dinner at Teppan Edo
Friday 6th - MK - Dinner at 1900 Park Faire
Saturday 7th - Early Flight Home 7:30a.

I approve!! :thumbsup2

I am contemplating a 2013 Disneyland, Aneheim trip.

Anyone else going?

If so, when?

nope. Disneyland for us is a possibility in 2015.

Actually I am very thankful to be working at all. So I’ll just deal with the restrictions. As for August… I’d love to, but like I said, school really starts for our son in July and is in full swing by early August. As a rising senior, I can’t justify taking him out for any extended period.

But…
Y’all have got me thinking. Maybe I need to come up with a different way to skin this cat. Originally we were trying to put together an expansive road trip that stopped once or twice a day and only traveled about four or five hours at a crack. The basic plan is still in flux, but looks a bit like his…

popcorn::

Used to go to many meetings near there. If you see a guy that looks like he is cold with a teenage daughter taking a pic of you, that will be us. Will try to stop by and wave hello. Staying at the W which is a bit further uptown but we will be going to the theater a couple of nights. Can't wait to get to the Big Apple again.

I'll keep my eye out!

For the studios, you pretty much have to be on the north side to see the park. The BLT TPV room I had last May (on the south side) had a view of MK only from the far left of the balcony. I was told that if I wanted a better view, I should have gotten a 1BR or better room. Niiiiiiiice customer service.

good to know. So even though I am paying for a Park View room, I still need to request to get a decent view of the park.

not knocking DVC.

But Has anyone wondered what they do with the money from the ones that aren't DVC that rent the DVC rooms at rack rate? Does that go towards lowering the DVC members dues? Is there accountability for the income the DVC property makes?:confused3

serious question.

no idea.

I always bring a power strip and an extension cord whenever I travel for those same needs. I also bring a non polarize plug adapter too, hate trying to plug in a polarize plug into a non polarize outlet.

:thumbsup2 Doesn't take up all that much room in the suitcase! Bring it cause you might need it!

Have a great time! Toast to whomever you choose, and toast often!!

I do this as well.

I actually have an "electronics bag" which is just a backpack that contains a power strip, plug adaptors, cell phone cords, batteries and I throw into it cameras, ipods, nintendos, portable DVD player, laptop, and other electronic stuff we need for the trip. It is bascially the same every trip, and everyone in the family knows to check the electronics bag.

it's okay to lose the bag with your clothes, just don't lose the electronics bag!!

Good morning Gents

it has been a roough week with wife starting her first week of work and trying to find time to get on the computer . because it is like get home at 1145 pm go to bed about 2 am wake up 4am with wife to say have a nice day . then back to sleep till i wake kids at 630am up till 930am sleep till 130pm then get cleaned up and off to work i go and you wounder why me and my CPAP machine don't get along :lmao:
hope to have time to play catch up tommorow but if not i will have the weekend wife off !!!!!!!!!! I do not know if this is a good thing or bad thing

I can relate. I should be sleeping, but choosing to catch up on the day's post instead!

Good question and hopefully a serious answer.

The DVC Management Company (whatever it is called) retains ownership of a percentage of points in each resort that are used for reservations on rack rate. They pay the same dues for their equivalent number of points that DVC members do. Rack rates are also added when DVC members trade out for use on non DVC resorts such as cruises, Adventures by Disney or the timeshare exchange company where they have a contract.

The audit of the use of member funds is done by an independent auditor. Each member receives a report stating where the dues money was spent. I throw them away or just glance at them. There are strict laws in Florida to protect "timeshare" owners from unscrupulous developers. I am confident that if DVC tried to pull anything, the outrage and publicity would be enormous. Many DVC members watch closely (and debate) how dues are spent.

Saying that, the problem with Aluani and the underestimating of prospective dues caused that uproar. Upper management was fired and the state of Hawaii stopped Disney from selling at the resort. People who already bought were grandfathered in at the dues DVC management estimated and the difference will be eaten by Disney, not the members. In that instance, the system worked.

If you look at things like how dues are spent and annual increases, Disney does a good job with the allocation and accountability issues.

i already answered that I had no idea. In hindsight I should have waited and then just said "he beat me to it". :rolleyes1

Hate to admit but I was beginning to worry about my nemesis.

I'm sure your concern was more about what YOU would do without a nemesis and less about what happened to said nemesis.

:lmao::rotfl2: so know I feel kind of dumb and I'm willing to share it. I was reading all this talk about PINs and was thinking what in the world is that and how do I get one. As I continued to read I then realized I got one in the mail a couple days ago.:rotfl: 30% off for stays during most of december. They even knew I had looked at rates for december. :scared1:

What sorcery is this?? :rotfl2:

Why don't I have the red tag thingy announcing my proud membership of the DDC! Am I the black sheep!?

I didn't have one either.

You have go to your profile, user cp and then click edit your details, then put it under custom user title. the tag fairy made mine red and the tag beneath it.

thanks!

We were on POTC and Brent starts saying George George just then the ride comes to a complete stop:scared1:

Was it George, was it a breakdown, or maybe it was a Sasquatch:confused3 Guess we will never know for sure:eek:

coincidence? or just two unrelated events happening at the same time?? :confused3

Very nice!!

I would like some good grandparent time, but it's hard to find. My dad turned 80 today, but stopped living 25 years ago when his company sold out. He was given a nice severance package and retired at 55. But, he identified his success with his job, so by his account, hasn't had any success since then. He had his second stroke last year, so we do not get much visiting time with him. My mom, 11 years younger doesn't visit often. As for Inlaws, MIL would feed children candy 24 hours a day - actually fed oldest dd candy until she vomited. FIL can drive dds alone in vehicle short distance, but that's about all he can handle. .

Sorry to hear that.

or is it that more men who watch NCAA basketball end up getting snipped than men who watch pro sports??
:confused3

okay. all caught up once again.

it was a beautiful day, but DW was not feeling well and stayed home sick. That gave me someone else to take care of on top of the 2 kids! :lmao:

Got outside for a bit in the afternoon and finally raked some leaves in the yard. hoping to do a bit more tomorrow.

was thinking today about our trip, and we were planning on renting a car, but might send my car down on the auto-train with a family member who is coming down a couple of days after us. We don't need it for the first couple of days, but will need transportation to the Port, and then could use it the following week. They leave the day before us, so we'd send the car back north on the train and spend the last full day and the morning before we leave without it.

Isn't it nice to be able to catch up and not have your posts interrupted by others? Or, when it's busy, trying to keep up with the new posts? An advantage of being overseas and on a different schedule from most people (the latter, in your case).

It was a bum knee, but it hasn't bothered me in a while. Ran 4.5 miles tonight and it never buckled once!

Didn't even see it - I was out for a run. I'd catch very brief glimpses on other people's TVs as I'd run by houses with the curtains open.:rotfl2:
From what I've read on Facebook, they had a chance at the end and blew it. Kind of glad I missed it. :confused3

Sounds like a great time! I've got a lot of very fond memories from my childhood at various cabins in Wisconsin's northwoods.

I hear you. Both of my parents have passed and DW's parents live 1,200 miles away.

Hey there Dave. I haven't seen you around for a while then you come back and start slinging insults? I have a way for you to fix my elbow... lock me up in the MK! :lmao::lmao:

Why, what happened? Did he try to bake Bambi in farts again? :confused3

I'm sure you are talking about Wisconsin losing. ;)

im not trying to insult anyone, just trying to figure out who to put my money on. ill have to check out the thread and see if i can get any info. out of there. i dont know tim, on one hand , the guy did run 4.5 miles last night. but he does have a bad knee. can you give me any insight on your progress? popcorn::

Morning Men!!

Its finally Friday, and Im listening to the Soarin, the full audio. Queue music, Boarding, the Ride and the Exit spiel. Got to love it!
