Morning guys! Just home from church. Man it was fairly quiet there today, as all programming for kids 5 & under was cancelled this weekend due to the measles outbreak here in town. Normally we average around 2,500 on a Sunday, but with the various families who stayed home, it felt like around 800 or so. Lite, lite, lite.

Well, DW was not happy that I booked BLT room because of too many points. I figured since were doing Disney Cruise in 2013 that I could go all in. But, I figured wrong. So, I'll call Monday and see what I can do. I might try the online website, but have not used it yet.

Hoping you can get it all straightened out.

Long weekend here in Canada (Ontario anyways) - tomorrow is FAMILY DAY!

President's day Monday for us. I have the long weekend as well.

LOL...

What were you thinking? You should use your noggin' next time:rolleyes2

Say it ain't so. BLT is a ton of points but worth it in my opinion. Great views, TOTWL, monorail access can't be beat. A few pics from my March trip.]

Hope it helps you to avoid the frying pan upside the head.

We own at BLT and did the studio there last year. It is my favorite resort thus far (not stayed at BC). She wants that point stay.

Great pictures!!!!

I doubt I will ever have the chance to stay at BLT but it looks amazing! :thumbsup2

We'd like to stay there once to try it out, but the decor & feel of it all just are not our style. When we first toured the models, DW turned to me and said "we are NOT getting any points here." I looked right back and said, "what ever made you think I'd consider it?" We don't like it, but hey, that's okay, and part of the beauty of all of those DVC resorts - something different for everyone! And using points once to stay there doesn't hurt us, but buying and then not staying there, that would!

I like the views more than I like the rooms. There are a few other DVC resport that I would love to stay at first... like AKV...

Hey any of you guys doing the TA thing... did you see the Appreciation Offer for DCL that came out yesterday? Thinking of going on that cruise? I'm calling today to get signed up for it, I believe. No other way you'll get a DCL 7 nighter for that price. Of course you would have to add airfare to LA, but still, you're not going to get a cheaper DCL cruise. It'd be fun if other guys could go on that cruise, we could have our own little mini-meet.

You have mentioned that, yes.

I agree, the views are nice, and that's what makes us want to try it out.

Is this open to the public? or only TA's?

Do you have pricing?

Exactly. When we stayed at WL, I loved it - theming, boat ride, beach - but DW hated it and said never again.

We liked AKV, but we have always spent most of our travels at MK and monorail resorts. So, for us, that 5 minute walk from BLT was the selling point. When I think of WDW, I think of my favorite resort, MK. The views are an added plus.

Unfortunately no, it's just for TA's and up to 3 guests. The TA must be in the room, so it could be possible for someone to invite someone along and be buddies sharing a room, but it's not for the general public no.

The pricing is nice and low. Too bad the regular pricing couldn't be so low, but the point is for TA's to get out and experience the ships/itineraries so they can then go and sell more rooms.

If you want to know how low, think about the current age of the Magic Kingdom at WDW... and then you'll know how much per night per person I'm talking about.

Yep.

DW was like that after we stayed at the Boardwalk. Great proximity, wonderful resort - BUT - she was sick the entire time. And refuses to go back. How badly she holds these sickness grudges? She got sick during her pregnancy with our middle son from some very good Chicken Enchilladas that she made for years prior... hasn't made them since. Just the mention of them, and she gets nauseous. Sad.

Thankfully we both love the WL, and that's our next point acquisition...

Wow... that is LOW! :scared1:

Agree that is part of the beauty of DVC resorts. I really like BLT but am not a fan of OKW or Saratoga. I know a lot of people who love those resorts. I liked the layout of the BLT rooms, convenience and views. My favorite after BW.

Speaking of views, on that trip I added a stay at the MK view studio where I took these...

Know what you mean. DD's mom could not stand the smell of popcorn while she was pregnant and would not allow popcorn to be made in the house ever since. Had to give her that one. After all she carried DD for 9 months and was a trooper during delivery.

Another one, that I just laugh about, and my boys give her such a hard time about is... when she was pregnant also with our middle son, she would have these cravings for Taco Bell tacos. So she'd call me at work and ask me to pick them up on the way home. She hasn't been able to eat there since he was born. In fact just looking at the locations makes her wince. The boys love to be sure and point them out to her while we're driving places. :rotfl:

With our eldest, it was spaghetti. Thankfully she got over that one 6-7 years ago, and we've been able to eat that again.

Lets start with the obvious.

How do I get out of Vegas with more the I came in with. :rotfl2:

Honestly though, why not start a new "DISDads guide toe Las Vegas" thread. (see stopher's guide to Disneyland) :thumbsup2

Good question. I wish I had a good answer. :confused3 I'm still searching for the answer myself. I would say don't gamble, but then what't the point of going to Vegas. Aside from robbing a bank or a casino, better hope you have a good night at the tables or slots. This might be the only way you come home with money.

I'll have to read stopher's guide. Going to DL this year. Maybe I can get some ideas and see what I can come up with Vegas.
