Looks like there was allot of damage done by the storms in some parts of the country this week. Hope all of the Dads here are safe.

Prayers and well wishes for the unfortunate victims and for the safety of the disaster relief teams that are responding.

It's that time of year.

I've already sent out the invites for this year to the teams from last year.

So far, we've had one drop out and one new team. Still waiting for responses from other owners from last year.

If you are interested, please send me a PM and I will invite you if we have the room.

The on-line draft is Monday, March 26th at 9:30pm. We are using Yahoo Fantasy Baseball.

The winner gets a brand new Chrysler Cordoba and you can pick it up at Morty's office. (Bonus points for whomever gets this joke/quote).

Morning everyone...

My it kinda got windy. Amelia woke me up last night to because the wind scared her. :lmao:

The phone in our bedroom's ringer doesn't work, it won't go off mute, no probs, but we can't hear calls in there. As it turns out, I missed a 2am call from the alarm center from work, the alarms went off in the store. As it turns out, the winds actually blew one of the break-away doors out (pretty impressive, they swing out, not in) this kinda sucks, I lose out on 4hrs overtime for the call in :headache: Apparently though, it took all night to get it fixed.

All packed and ready to go!

Wooo! Have fun, keep safe. How's DS feeling with the Strep?

Hey Don,

I was quickly scanning the Leap Day thread, and notice there were 2 member requests, that may have got missed in the shuffle.

I suggest you go back and read through, find them, and give them the traditional DISDad welcome they deserve.

Hey I don't know if you guys remember, but when we were closing off the last thread (not the leap day but XVI), someone asked me (I think it was Norm, but don't remember for sure).

How do you keep a Canadian in suspense?

Oddly, he never gave me the answer... must have forgot, and it has been bugging me ever since.

I've done a lot of extensive research to figure out how, and wasn't able to come up with anything. So, I went downtown Toronto (just outside the Eaton Centre) and asked some random Canadians, thinking they would know.

My results:

- Most people just laughed at me.
- A handful told me they would tell me tomorrow (I went back the next day and not one of 'em showed up), so that intrigued me even more.
- And 1 guy beat the cr@p out of me, calling me a stupid yankee. :confused3

So I am still searching for this answer, and am hoping whoever it was that asked me (Norm I believe), will come back and telling me, it's KILLING me!

On a somewhat realted note though, I did find out how to keep a Canadian in Suspenders!

Thanks for the prayers. We have the all clear now. It really was a fast moving storm. I walked around the house and no damage. The cat has resurfaced from hiding, which is even a better predictor than the weather people. We still don't have any electricity. Prayers for all those in the continued lines of storms.
Ok...the worst of the storms have now passed us by!! I have never seen weather coverage like this before and the number of funnel clouds and touchdowns in this area before. We are not used to this stuff!!
Glad you guys are OK!

Those were some nasty storms. The damage is unbelievable. :sad2:

I just got two free tickets on Southwest so I think I am going to fly down with my DS5 for MNSSHP in October for a short father and son trip. DS5 is really into the villains right now and watches the Boo to You parade on Youtube all the time.

Any ideas on what is the best way to plan the trip? We'll probably just do two nights since he'll just be starting kindergarten. Southwest has flights available right now, but the dates for MNSSHP are not out yet. Are there certain nights (like always on Tue or Wed) that they usually have it?

Well, at least if it were the north end, you could have grabbed a hotdog at that awesome vendor wiht the like 100 toppings.:lmao:

Good Brunch time to everyone!! (it's almost afternoon, but not quite)

‘Morning all…
The storms have made it down this way but it’s nothing like the mess that roared through the Ohio River region. I hope everyone got through the worst of it intact. Stay safe while this business sorts itself out.

It’s a competition day for us. We’re heading toward Spartanburg for what will be a long day. That’s about a 90ish minute drive in each direction form here (with the added bonus of heavy rain). The kids are getting an even earlier start, so DS will be heading out the door in just a few minuets here. Prelims are at noon for us, finals start in the early evening, so we’ll be 1am tomorrow or later before we’re back at home. I don’t have to move any gear this time around so I’ll get to watch from the stands (that will be very odd).

I’ll check on ya’ and holler back sometime tomorrow. Let us know how Steve’s son is doing and all the rest of you take care and stay safe.

good luck!

Getting ready for the next leap year thread? I should scan in my old pictures, but I have a slow scanner, and it would take a while. Maybe a future project.

nothing agains bacon, but i found it more enjoyable to post pictures of my trips, even if nobody saw most of them.

The sun is shining. A beautiful day. I have a ref clinic. Have a good one.

The sun is shining. The tank is clean...

All packed and ready to go!

someone's on a roll! :thumbsup2

Good afternoon eveyone!!!! Good news this morning...They were able to sprad out Ethan's breathing treatments during the evening and night to at least 4 hours and that was the clincher to get to come home. It is good to have us all under the same roof again! Heck I am glad to still have a roof after the storms last night :rotfl2:. We still ahve to give him treatments every four hours and by the end of the cycle he is starting to cough again. Hopefuly by the time he has to go vack to school on Monday we can have him shaped up more. Today was supposed to be his last All Star game of the season. Needless to say, he didnt get to go. That is ok though...his health is the most important thing and I think the whole ordeal was a little scary to him, but he wont admit it;). He and lauren used the facetime on the phones last night before bed and is was just so sweet to watch those two talk to each other. That is a nice feature on the phone that until then I had not ever used :thumbsup2

We have not had any real damage here around the house. At least not like they did in some close by areas. one town lost the fire house. It just collapsed on the trucks during the storm. I have honeslty never seen anything like this before last night. Lauren and I took shelter in the linen closet while the worst of it passed over. Shari said the hospital was on lockdown during the storm.

Wel, I better get moving just wanted to stop in and update on things here. Thanks again for all the prayers, text, and positive thoughts! it meant a lot to us and Ethan thought it was so cool that you guys thought of him! His little girlfriend came to see him after school yesterday with a bunch of balloons. Both of their faces lit up when they saw each other. She looked at me all serious and said that even when she was at home watching TV that she thinks of Ethan :rolleyes1. I think we have a second generation DisDad in the making (wayyyy in the future :rotfl2:).

Oh yeah...Brian I like how you used my color and font to ask about Big E :thumbsup. You guys missed me didnt you? :rotfl2:

Touringplans Blog just posted this:

Due to police activity in the esplanade (between the Disney and Disney California Adventure entrances) the parks of the Disneyland Resort are closed. Guests are not being permitted to enter or exit at this time. The initial shutdown began around 8 or 9 a.m. local time and remains closed presently. We will update you with details if/when they become available.
