Good Lord...I forgot about Mother's Day!!!:scared1:

I never forget about Mothers day. It successfully overshadows and makes my birthday irrelevant pretty much on an annual basses.
:lmao:

But we do end up spending a good bit of time with my wife’s family because of it. Now, weather or not that is really a good thing could be debated I suppose, but…
:rolleyes1

With all the ginseng hunting I've read about, I wondered if you were in harms way. Good to know. So, what are the illegal crops?

There tends to be significant cultivation of cannabis in eastern KY. I won't even make farm visits without the county agent unless I talk with the agent first. Having a state truck driving through the deep hollers is a good way to raise suspicion.

Morning guys

Another long day in the lab working on a huge powerpoint. Looks like another day of sheer boredom. The only saving grace will be my ipod!

Matt

One thing I learned to make it easier was to go with pictures in the PPT and the words in the handouts. Enjoy the iPod.

Jodi and I flew to Phoenix and drove to the Yosemite, with stops at the Grand Canyon and Vegas. It was springtime and beautiful. :

Sounds like a great trip. I'll keep that route in mind. I want to go to Jellystone and see Yogi bear.

Morning guys!!

Seven years ago today I was blessed to become the father of two beautiful, smart and precious little girls :thumbsup2

I took the day off today to spend with them. Time has gone by so quickly and I realize that my time with them is so valuable to me.

Have a great day guys :thumbsup2

HAve a great day with them. Happy Birthday to them.

remember to update your signature. It says they're 6.

Well, looks like I'm getting a garage!:hyper: It's a detached 2-car 24x24.

Beer fridge is going to be a go, but probably no TV. Well, maybe a vcr or old playstation, but nothing live. Still, I'll be able to play the Stratocaster plugged in and amped up without disturbing the family. (just the neighbors)

And this is on TOP of the WDW vacation. (though, the DVC $ is going into a garage, so a little give & take)
It's been a good spring.

Terrific news. So, when is the Disdad convention scheduled for your house?

I figured you would have a university truck and everyone would come out for your autograph.

Well, more news on May vacation. DW reminded me that dds have dance class that week, and you know, you can't miss dance for a vacation. So, it looks like I am home that week with a staycation. We'll go to the zoo, go visit my parents one day, and maybe some other stuff.

…Or draw direct fire (which would be considerably worse). :scared:
Wise to travel with backup in this instance.

Speaking of Mother's Day.....

Do any of you have any "disney-ish" ideas for a Mother's Day present?

I've traditionally always purchased the DW a "bead" or two for her Pandora or Chamilia bracelets...I'm trying to think of something new this year.

I was going to suggest a Pandora bracelet LOL :rotfl2: Looks like you got that covered already...I am going to surprise Shari on the cruise with a DCL bead for her bracelet........Now....what am I going to do for this weekend...sheesh If it was not for Andy I would have forgotten!!!

David I hope you get to enjoy your day with the girls to the fulest today!!!

Good Morning to the rest of you guys!!!

I am home with a sick grl today. Bless her heart she is pitiful. It actually orked out well... I needed a mental health day too! :rotfl2:

Baseball for the next 4 nights...closing on our refinance tomorrow evening... and of course that are the usual two or three birthparties to attend...going to be a busy weekend!!!

Hope Lauren (and you) feel better soon

Staycation = more money for DVC or do you have all the points you want now?

Also a good way to get shot! :rotfl2:

Why not treat mom like a "Princess" that day.

Maybe Cinderella...she could scrub the floors, wash the toilets, sew dresses, etc...:rotfl2:

Just kidding Tricia...

But honestly, I would make it princess themed day. Breakfast in bed, take her to get her nails done, hair, put on some nice clothes, then take her out for a special dinner... maybe even a magic carpet ride. Get the kids involved, they can make crafts for mom, maybe a tiara, etc...

BEST DAY EVER!

At the end of the day, is where you come in... she can kiss the frog!

Just got an email from the wife. She has recommended me to a student of hers to help plan their first Disney Vacation! ... Will this be as fun as planning my own or a pure nightmare? Its Disney I'll have fun and I sure hope I can help them to have fun.

Wish me luck:)

Welcome to the club! and good luck!!

As it turns out, the last day of school is May 21 & I have that week off. Plus, with Memorial Day, this would be a great 6 night, 7 day vacation. I am meeting Dave and his family Saturday at Huber Farms, so i could still get in a 4 day vacation somewhere. I think DW has to work that week so it will just be the dds and I. I have made the drive to WDW before to when DW wasn't feeling well. Or, i do have some priority club travel points thru work i could use. My original plans were to go to the zoo and other local stuff, but, a quick get away might be nice as well. Golf shores is close? Hmmm...

:stir:

Good news from Seton Hall. The "mandatory" orientation session while we are in Hawaii is not mandatory. They have another one at the end of August. We will probably drive up for that and stay until the term starts. So I guess she will be going to SH. No way I was giving up on the vacation.

Rain just passed through. Another storm is on the way. The pool is closed and more importantly THE POOL BAR IS CLOSED! Now what am I going to do?

would that make her a pirate squared??

Just saw this on FB....

Oh? You have a birthday near Mother's Day? :rolleyes1

Why yes oh great keeper of the DisDad BD Announcements (but you already knew that :rolleyes2)

Mine is always just before or just after Momma’s Day so that weekend is always dominated by time with the in-laws and of course time spent spoiling DW. To add to that, my son’s BD is four days after mine, so it dominates everyone’s attention the rest of the following week and the weekend afterward (as it should). Between those two events, mine has been neigh on to invisible for about two decades now. Next year… my BD falls smack on Mother’s Day, so it will heave absolutely no meaning what so ever :lmao:

Me neither. :worried: :lmao::rotfl:

I got one once!!! Wow, I'm special!!

Went ginseng hunting today. There are times I actually like my job. Found what we were looking for and no signs of illegal crops either so it was a win.

if they were growing illegal crops, why would they put up signs?? :confused3

:rotfl2:

Well, looks like my week of vacation at the end of May will have to be closer to home. DW said no. First, she said, we couldn't afford it. I asked her she knew that since she never stays within the household budget. I'll have to bank those 35 points to next year.

sorry.

I am home with a sick grl today. Bless her heart she is pitiful. It actually orked out well... I needed a mental health day too! :rotfl2:

Poor Princess. Hope she feels better soon! :thumbsup2

Good Lord...I forgot about Mother's Day!!!:scared1:

Just a friendly reminder, Mother's Day is Sunday.

You're welcome. ;)

May is our busiest month of the year for family stuff with all three girls in Dance Recital next weekend, SOL testing, Final Exams, and the other day-to-day stuff. We have to plan everything before or after May. Have a great Stay-cation!

New HVAC unit is scheduled to get installed tomorrow. I sure am glad that I have friends in that business and that it hasn't been terribly hot yet.

Now that sounds likes like a cool trip! Driving out West from here would be quite a haul! I think I'd fly somewhere West first, then drive. Much more fun to rent a car anyway! :lmao:

Vegas?

I always wanted to rent a convertible and make the drive. But, neither DW nor dds like having the windows down in the car now, much less a convertible. Yeah, it may be to fly to Vegas, rent car to Canyon and DL, and then the rest of the trip. I could handle that as well. I pulled up the trip on Google Maps once. That Interstate ride west opposite TX looks brutal.

what about the family truckster? DW doesn't like the windows down in the car either. drives me nuts.

Already had to go to my mom's to dry towels, it will not be to long before I run out of work clothes:scared1:

No matter how old you get, you somehow still need to go to Mom's house to do laundry.

Morning all...

good morning!

Jodi and I flew to Phoenix and drove to the Yosemite, with stops at the Grand Canyon and Vegas. It was springtime and beautiful.

Good Day Men!
