DDA Chapter 9

Nope. I appreciate the tip about National, though! I don't WANT to rent a car, but I figured we better reserve one in case the buses are really, really bad. People keep posting waits of 45 minutes from SSR. The problem is, they aren't posting WHAT TIME they got to the bus stop! If they get to the bus stop at 7:15 AM and no bus comes until 8 AM that's a problem. If they get to the bus stop at 9:15 AM and wait until 10 AM that doesn't apply to me because we would NEVER leave for the parks that late! I guess I need to keep playing with the rental cars to see if I can get the stupid rates down.

For us, we never waited more than 10 or 15 minutes when we left before park opening. Any long waits we had were in the middle of the day and those were only about 20-25 minutes for the most part on this trip. Of course, that was OKW but the horror stories were there as well as SSR.

Thanks, Vicki!
The car I have reserved is for 10 days, and now the 7 day rate is only like $20 cheaper! :scared1: Ridiculous! I'll keep playing with it when I happen to think about it, but I don't think it will be worth over $400. There is no way we would spend that much in cab fare, and there HAVE to be times where we will get lucky with the bus.

I'm not enjoying this rainy, cold, nasty weather that we got this week-end. Why does the good weather always seem to be during the week when I'm working?

It turned chilly here today as well!

Robyn I hope your burn heals quickly & that you were able to get your nap in :wizard:

Love the new pictures in your signature!

I think I've mentioned this before, but does anyone remember the Silver Plan from years ago? I think Bob and I did that in 2001. That was $70 per person per night then. I really liked that plan. It'd be nice to see that one back again. How long has the current dining plan been around? (Tips and no tips? A few years right?)

Becky - I saw those cloud guys on the Today show a few days ago. It was neat to watch them "make" clouds!

I think it switched over in 2005. I know they still had the Silver plan when I worked at WDW in 2004. I used the new plan in 2005.

Yep. We took our first trip in January of 2005, and that was the first month for DDP and EMH. PM EMH at MK was EMPTY. It was fabulous!
I kept track of everything we ate and made a chart when we got home to see what would have been covered by DDP and what wouldn't have been. We came out better paying cash. We also had a general public room discount at Pop - $55 per night.
We paid for DDP in Oct. 05 and Aug. 06, then we got it "free" in Aug. 07. I said there was NO WAY we would pay for DDP after DS was an "adult" but that DxDDP just called to me. At least we are only doing it for 7 nights. By the end of 7 nights we will be so full that it will last almost the rest of the vacation! :rotfl2:

Arghh... I just made this entire post, picture links and all and then closed out the browser window! :confused3

The fog finally burned off today and we were able to have a delightful day in Salem.

Hope everyone has a good evening. I am headed to bed with a book from the library here in our room and then to sleep early. See you all in the morning!

Vickie- How is the training going for the half?

I am still contemplating signing up for the half. I know so indecisive. I just do not know if I want to go to FL next year, as there are so many other places I would love to go. But I would love to be part of the inaugural event and to run my first half at WDW.

I am signing up for a 5k on August 3rd and a 5 mile event in October. I hope I can commit to the dates. I guess if I sign up then I have to do them.;) I want to sign up for a 10k or slightly longer event yet before the end of the year. Which is what I need to do to keep me moving and motivated.

I know this is a bit quicker then C25K recommends, but I have been kind of doing my own program. So if I start today that puts me at 6 weeks for the 5k. The recommended 9 weeks I will be on a ship.

Hopefully by signing up it keeps me motivated to get moving and exercise.

Amy thanks for sharing the pictures of Jennifer's sweet peas & the pictures of Alyssa & Matty. Sounds like you are pretty sure Noah will be here in a couple of days :goodvibes

Oh, I'm not so sure. ;) At least we know he'll be here by the end of the week!

Amy nice pictures, and your kids are growing up fast.

Get the hospital bag packed!!!

Thanks! :goodvibes And I will...tomorrow. ;)

Or don't pack it. Then you can have hospital pics of you wearing one of those ugly gowns. And you won't have any make-up on, either. But whatever. Your choice. :rolleyes1

LOL! Does your reverse psychology work with DH and DS? :rotfl:

I've admitted that my make-up bag is packed...and I can grab my favorite red robe on the way out the door. :teeth:

Today I plan on doing NOTHING! Emma, Molly and I seemed to have come down with terrible head colds. It feels as if my head is about explode.

I hope you are feeling better and you really did NOTHING today!

I completely cheated and bought refrigerated cookie dough to thank the swim lessons' instructors later this week.

For Amy - The House of the 7 Gables, its gardens and Nathaniel Hawthorne's home:

Very, very cool! I haven't read that book since senior year, but I remember liking it. Great pictures!

Elin - I can think of nothing better than a day filled with witches and pirates! Loved your pics!

Amy - I prefer to use old fashioned guilt on DH and DS. :rolleyes1

I went to Macy's for a bit this afternoon. I found a Claiborne golf shirt marked down from $50 to $6! The print is kind of loud, but it fits really nice and it is anti-microbial which is good at WDW in August! :rotfl:
I found some T-shirts for DH because that's what he has decided to wear at WDW this time.
They also had DS's Nike shorts on clearance, plus 40% off that price, plus 15% off for using my Macy's card. $10 a pair! So I bought him 5 pairs and took 2 pairs from Target back for a refund. The Target ones were $13 each, so the Nike were cheaper!
I got the grocery shopping done, and I just need to toss the throw blankets in the dryer and the laundry will be finished.

I talked to my mom. She said she was feeling much better, but then she ended up helping watch my cousin's DGD for about an hour and now she is exhausted. Who in their right mind would ask her to help watch a one year old with the way she has been feeling? :scared1: It turns out the request for help was directed at Diva, but Diva had other plans so Mom went over to help with the baby. :headache: Mom said it is still hard for her to concentrate and she is very tired. If she was already IN chemo those would be completely normal side effects, but they are NOT normal for post-op. We'll see how she feels after she finished off her antibiotics. She sees the surgeon on Wednesday so I told her she REALLY needs to tell the surgeon that she still feels "off".

Diva finished the classroom portion of her Driver's Ed class today, but now she has to wait to be scheduled for the road portion. Mom said there is about a 2 week wait for that, but Diva can't blame that on anyone. She is signed up and her turn will roll around eventually.

Great pictures Elin!

Elizabeth I hope you mom feels less tired soon! Sounds like you had a good day shopping ::yes::

Riley had a game at 4pm & they lost, so they had to play another game at 8pm. They lost this one as well, so they are out of the tournament games. Now it is on to the All Stars! Riley wasn't to bummed beings he has the other games to look forward to, but some of the boys took it really hard.

Thanks for all the compliments on the pictures. We are having lots of fun taking them!
