DDA Chapter 9

Elin no word from Lindsay & Tammi has not posted while she has been away.

I hope Deb & family are having a wonderful time!

We went to a pirate birthday party for my nephew yesterday. It was at my DB and SIL's house and was to be a pool party. None of the adults got in the pool since it never got above 65 degrees here and the sun was nowhere to be seen. I am apparently the "coolest aunt in the world" since I found a Ben 10 lunch box and a Ben 10 action figure that opens his mouth and belly ... :rotfl:

My little guy is now 5 years old and starts kindergarten in the fall!

Great pictures! Sorry it was not warm enough for the pool for everyone. It was warm enough here for the pool last night at the neighbor's party, for both kids and adults.

Amy nice pictures, and your kids are growing up fast.

Get the hospital bag packed!!!

Robyn nice pictures and there are a few pictures of the smoosh cake.

Alex had posted on the CB that the site would be down last night for repairs. Hope it fixed the problem with the posting.

Good morning, DDA!

What are the changes for the DDP?

It's all complete speculation right now. Some guy posted that he got a memo from his supervisor about them adding in appetizers and tips again, effective July 1 (as in Tuesday, not 2009) because of customer complaints. But NOBODY could come up with any sort of confirmation so the mods locked the thread. It does kind of remind me of the posts last year where people would talk about the union contracts and how the tips were being taken out, and that all turned out to be true. And then the CM told Bernadette there would be DDP for AP holders, and that was true, too! Every once in awhile the very early rumors do turn out to have at least some truth to them, so we'll see. I REALLY don't think they are going to add the tips back in mid-year because there really IS a clause about it in the union contracts now.

My family would be delighted to have the LTT eliminate its characters. We have found that it is becoming more difficult to find a middle-of-the-road TS restaurant in a park that doesn't have characters. However we also know we are in a minority (I think) so never thought it would happen.

We've only been to LTT once. I thought it was super expensive for the food they serve, but we had "free" dining. The rumor is that the price won't change, they will just eliminate the characters. Um, no thanks! :rotfl:

Marci and Janet - tell your boys good luck on their games today!!

Jennifer - I hope your toe/foot is better today.

Ditto!! :wizard:

ADORABLE pictures, Robyn! Love all the smiles! Your cakes and Lucy's t-shirt are awesome, too! :goodvibes

I hope it was a good day for all!

Great new signature, too!

Mmmm! Cake!
Sorry I missed wishing Lucy a happy birthday!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LUCY!!

Amy nice pictures, and you kids are growing up fast.

Get the hospital bag packed!!!

Or don't pack it. Then you can have hospital pics of you wearing one of those ugly gowns. And you won't have any make-up on, either. But whatever. Your choice. :rolleyes1

Elin - Travel Channel just had a bunch of shows on the other day about Salem and Danvers. I would LOVE to go there! Looks like a very fun party!

Elin, Vicki, and Robyn - Loved all of the pics!!

I worked last night and by the time I got home the boards were down. On the other hand, I made some more money for the trip and the kids are always very well-behaved! Their DD turned 4 in March, and their DS will be 3 in October. He is just a little older than Princess. Very sweet. And he has a little smile that reminds me of Brother. :goodvibes

Today I get to finish the laundry. And go to the grocery so we don't starve. We do NOT need pasta side dishes or applesauce. Apparently those 2 are spawning in the pantry and plotting a takeover of the kitchen! I always figure we have used whatever I bought before, but obviously NOT.

Before I hop in the shower... has no one heard from Lindsay yet?

It isn't surprising that Lindsay hasn't posted. This is her busy time of the year. She went AWOL last year at the same time if I remember correctly. If we don't hear from her in a couple of days, I'll see if I can reach her just to make sure all is ok.

Thanks for the DDP info Elizabeth, rumor or not. Also it seems the DIS finds these things out long before Disney officially releases.

Thanks guys for the all the comments and birthday wishes for Lucy! None of you haven't actually missed her birthday, it's this coming Wednesday. We plan on celebrating her birthday in Massachusetts with my cousins since we leave that morning for our annual 4th of July trip.

I have to tell you that I think I am done with cakes (at least for a bit anyway as I have to do one at the end of July for my girlfriend's DD). I had a bad night Friday night- I managed to burn my hand (from the bottom of my thumb to my wrist, it's the length and width of my index finger.) when I put the icing spatula into a glass of hot water that I was holding. The water spilled over onto my hand. And then the Pooh picture broke so at 11:30pm I had to redo it. Not my finest moments!

Today I plan on doing NOTHING! Emma, Molly and I seemed to have come down with terrible head colds. It feels as if my head is about explode.

Forgive me for not replying to everyone but I did read everything to catch up. I think it's time for me to get a nap in. 's and :wizard: to everyone!!

It would be delightful if they added the tips back in effective Tuesday, but can you imagine the backlash of FURIOUS people who paid OOP tips over the past 6 months? :scared1: That, combined with the wording in the union contracts, makes me think any changes will be for 2009.
Somebody said to expect an increase in cost to $50 for DDP and $90 for DxDDP, but I can't remember if that person claimed to actually know something! :rotfl:

add me to that list...I can't see how they could make a change or at least have it be in effect until 2009..

Well, their favorite phrase IS "subject to change without notice" but I don't think that will apply here. It has already been a logistical nightmare - I can't imagine that they want to make it worse by changing terms smack in the middle of the year.

did you ever have any car rental luck Elizabeth?

Nope. I appreciate the tip about National, though! I don't WANT to rent a car, but I figured we better reserve one in case the buses are really, really bad. People keep posting waits of 45 minutes from SSR. The problem is, they aren't posting WHAT TIME they got to the bus stop! If they get to the bus stop at 7:15 AM and no bus comes until 8 AM that's a problem. If they get to the bus stop at 9:15 AM and wait until 10 AM that doesn't apply to me because we would NEVER leave for the parks that late! I guess I need to keep playing with the rental cars to see if I can get the stupid rates down.
