DDA Chapter 8

Mom just phoned. She is finished with her pre-op. They injected the radio-active stuff that they will use to track how the tumor drains so they will know which lymph nodes to target in the OR. I feel kind of queasy. It really is getting close now.
My aunt, Diva Girl, and a couple of cousins will go to the hospital tomorrow to wait for her to come out of surgery. She has to be there at 6:30 AM - not sure what time they will start her procedure.

I should make it to her house by 10:30 AM Thursday. Hopefully everything will go fine and I will come home Monday feeling like I didn't really need to go after all.

Well I was hoping to hear news about Jennifer :goodvibes Hope you hear something soon Amy!

Elizabeth :wizard: for your mother!

:yay: for all the kiddos being out of school!

Jen just called! :)

Elise arrived first at 8:35 a.m. She weighs 5 lb. 13 oz. Her sister, Avery, arrived at 8:36 a.m. She weighs 5 lb. 1 oz.

The girls have been with Jen and Kyle all day, except for a half-hour trip away to get immunizations, etc. Neither baby needed oxygen and both scored 9 on their Apgar tests!

Jen sounded very upbeat, but she admitted the c-section had a few bumps (getting sick from the spinal, etc.). She hopes to update her blog soon, with pictures and more details, for all their family and friends. Hopefully, they'll get to go home Thursday morning!

elizabeth ur moms in my thoughts

i have read everything and am all caught up. my aunt and her siblings could all use your prayers today. her mom passed away a few hours ago. also dad had his cath Friday. he came out well and defiantly needs the surgery PLUS a double bypass. they will do it at the same time so it will be scheduled soon. today shocker and i would have been a team for 10 years. Love ya girl.

Hi! I told Amy what I was told, which was an incorrect weight. Elise actually weighed 5lb 15oz! Here's the form letter email that was sent out, I'll try and get more details and pictures when the company leaves .... drama ensues, and I need to be on top of that! :rotfl:

After 9 weeks of bedrest, lots of monitoring and intervention, a not-so-simple pregnancy and more anticipation than we could have ever imagined, we finally got to meet and hold Elise Nicole and Avery Jade! Both girls are doing well, and haven't left our side since their initial assessment. Mom had a bit of a time with the anesthesia, etc (why not?) but is doing much better now! The c-section itself was uneventful, and the babies were thriving from the beginning! Our doubled-in-size family is all doing well! :)

Elise Nicole Kaufman
8:35am ~ 5lb, 15oz ~ 19.5 inches

Avery Jade Kaufman
8:36am ~ 5lb, 1 oz ~ 18.5 inches

We are feeling blessed beyond measure! After wondering if we would ever get this opportunity, we have been doubly blessed, and are so excited to continue this journey! God has been so faithful in getting us this far, and - despite them still coming a month early - everyone is happy, healthy, and ready to go home as soon as they'll let us!

More pictures, details, etc to follow on www.chateaukaufman.com if you're interested! :)

I am trying to distract myself by mercilessly tweaking our WDW plans.:rolleyes1

Princess has used her potty 5 times today. She has not had a single accident! I am so proud of her!
