DDA Chapter 8

Thank you! I had planned on BB but then the shark reef sounded interesting, but not interesting enought that you just swim across and that's it.

The line for shark reef was really long when we were last there. We had to split up as Colby wasn't able to do it so one of us hung out in the sunken ship looking at the fish with Colby while the other waited in line. The water is freezing too. It isn't something that the boys have mentioned doing again.

We had a BBQ tonight. Hamburgers, Hotdogs, potato salad, homemade mac & cheese, homemade baked beans, pasta salad & cottage cheese. For dessert we had cake, chocolate cream pie and apple croc pot dump cake. The Dump cake was very easy and suprisingly good :thumbsup2 We were all stuffed. We talked a bit about the trip too.

My brother really wants to get an outdoor furnace so that seems to be the only thing on his mind. He wants us to talk about it, but I really want to talk to someone that acually owns one before I make any decisions.

Thanks. I think we will save the snorkeling for when we do a cruise. Then we can take a snorkel excursion.

Chanon - you got some great gifts.\

Yes, you did! That quilt is lovely!

Apparently I do! :thumbsup2 Black or tan? That seems to be the only two options... unless I haven't looked far enough yet.

Well, back when I used to dance some of the girls had to spray paint their shoes to match their costumes - it worked pretty well! So start with tan and then think about spray paint. :rotfl2: Some of them painted the shoes silver, then sprinkled glitter on the wet paint. They were nice and sparkly for the recital!

And here's a question for you...if you had 12 nights at the world would you do a split stay or just stay put?

I would do a split stay! I am hoping to convince Chuck to maybe do a split stay in March and we'll only be there 8-10 nights. I don't think we'll be going back before then  but we have to go then for the 1/2 marathon. I'm going to throw myself into preparing for that and all of our camping week-ends. Hopefully, that will get me through until March. I've been spoiled the last two years.

After our multiple moves last summer I am really looking forward to staying in one place this trip. Each time we moved we lost several hours of our day, not to mention the time it took to pack up the night before. Moving once wouldn't be horrible, but keep it to a minimum to maximize your park time. It was nice experiencing different resorts, but we can do that for years to come.

Chanon - your gifts are wonderful, expecially the hand-stitched ones. :) And I think you look lovely in the photo with the cake!

I need to get off of here and to bed. I survived Relay and then work on like no sleep. Today I ended up at Hersheypark and Red Robin. Hope you all had a great weekend.

Hope you all had Great Father's Days.

Jennifer and Kyle Good luck tomorrow.

those are usually what is available, but Kristin says they are made in white too. I was just excited to see they come in wide width! And I think the tan would work for you.

I don't think our move from AKL to SSR will be bad because we're not going to touch the big suitcases until after we get to SSR. We'll pack the carry-ons like we do for our short trips and use those the first 3 days. SSR to WL will be a pain, and WL to AKV will be a pain. I am continuing to sit firmly on the fence about staying 10 nts. at SSR, partly because we would definitely want to rent a car and partly because we would have to borrow points to cover 3 of the 4 nts. :rolleyes1

Have I mentioned how thoroughly irritated I am at all the people getting postcards with PINs for August? Some of those people already had trips booked and are calling to get the discount applied. None of the August DDAers have gotten postcards!

Eh, it's okay. I'm not a bag person. I would rather put my park tix, ID and phone in my pocket, and then just carry my camera. But with Bob.........he's the backpack man! :thumbsup2

I did a day or two this trip without a bag! It was so freeing!!!! I'll be doing this more on our future trips.

Photo time.

Beautiful! You guys did an awesome job!

Another great job!!!
Thanks!

Monsters Inc was on TV last night so we all watched that & then after the movie they showed 4 pixar shorts which cracked my kids up. Daniel needed his inhaler after watching "Lifted".:lmao: They also previewed Toy Story Mania which looks like so much fun. I know we just went in April but we are all "homesick" & can't wait to go back to Disney.
We have a Pixar shorts DVD.

He is a quick photo of the new hairdo.

CUTE! Looks perfect for Disney!

I have been busy!
The Disboutiquer thread was getting a little "catty" for a bit, so I decided to take a break from the Dis for a little while!

I really do miss everyone!
"catty"???? It was downright scary! Its wierd how people can flip out and get so nasty. I was thinking the thread would get shut down and fall apart. I'm glad its gotten past all that for now.

Just for those who don't read it some folks were complaining about others "stealing" their ideas. Pretty simple don't post pictures. One gal accused someone of "stealing" an idea from her 3yo.:confused3 It got real nasty for a while.

We are heading to Cedar Point on Wednesday.
Leighanna is 47 inches tall, maybe 47 1/2 with shoes on. She SO wants to ride a coaster like she can at WDW, but most of them at Cedar Point have height requirements of 48".
We are taking her friend too, who is 49" tall. I hope we do not have any meltdowns there.
It has been a long time since we have visited Cedar Point, and this is Leighanna's first time.
Hopefully Camp Snoopy will keep her entertained enough to keep her mind off of the "Mega Coasters"!:scared1: But for my "thrill seeking" daughter, I just don't think so!
Hope you had a fun day!

Kristin told me last night that she would love to go to WDW for her birthday in August. I could do it for $1000 plus food. Now, if only I could figure out how to come up with an additional $1000 during the time of year I barely get a paycheck...

Hope you can work that out!

Chuck & I made it home about 8pm last night. Uneventful flight for us. The girls had an interesting experience on their way home on Thursday. They ended up in Detroit for at least 6 hours. Due to someone getting sick on the inbound flight to Orlando, their initial flight was delayed so that they missed their connection by just a few minutes (it was still on the ground but already closed up). They got on the next flight scheduled for 3 hours later but that kept getting delayed because bad weather delayed their flight crew. They finally got in to Green Bay around 2:30 am. We had them stay in a motel down there for the night.
Welcome home! Sorry about the girl's flight. Hope your sister got her seat assignments worked out.

The girls like to get a picture of themselves and the cast member wait staff when they are exceptional. Here they are with my niece and nephew at CRT. He was absolutely an awesome waiter. One of the best (and we've had some great ones).

What a great photo!!! Looks like everyone was having a great time!

I used LeonsMom's stick figures to make a custom design for all of us. I thought I had the picture on my computer of all of us in them but I must not have gotten them off Katrina's camera yet. I'll post them later. Here is the design. We put them on yellow shirts and wore them to Cirque du Soleil.

Cute! I bet you all looked great in those matching T's!

We'll be leaving by 5 at the latest tomorrow, so I won't check in then... but I have given Amy permission to post anything I send her way (or anything she finds searching on the internet, if she so chooses to hunt me down should I be too slow ;)).

Take care! :goodvibes
:wizard: Hope you have an easy delivery and that all your pregnancy problems clear up quickly. Can't wait to see the girls!

That reminds me - I still have to get a check out to you!
Don't worry about it. You've been a little busy!

It was my first time (as an adult) on the Dumbo ride. I only rode it because we were recreating a picture of the my sister and I when we were there when I was 15 and she 8. Katrina and Mom got some pictures of us. Kristine also took one as she sat in the Dumbo in front of us.
First time as an adult???? It's one of my favorites! I love flying about the Magic Kingdom! And I used to be such a ride whimp before I had to start riding the thrill rides with Lizzy.

looks great
Thanks!

So I ordered the bag that Janet posted about in black. I sure hope it will work for a diaper bag and to hold the autograph cards
good thing they have free shipping back to them if I don't like it.
I used to keep most of the actual diaper supplies in a clear zip lock bag that I kept in the stroller basket.

Mom made this for us:

This is the handmade quilt (no machine at all!) from Bob's Grandma:

Love the Mickey/Minnie cross stitch! That quilt is incredible. How long have your been engaged? I can't imagine making that all by hand. I HATE to sew by hand! I even sewed the buttons on Joe's shirt by machine. The favors are really nice too!

Nice cake! Love your top! Great gifts!

They did have a wonderful time. There weren't very many tantrums by my niece which was good. She has frequent ones at home. The counselor has said that she has regressed quite a bit since she was scheduled to testify. We are hoping that once she gets through this and she never has to tell another living soul, that she won't ever regress again.

My nephew got past several of his own fears on this trip. I was quite proud of him. He rode several roller coasters and loved them. He doesn't like fireworks because his dad was burned by one as a kid. We were walking down Main Street when the fireworks from the stage show went off and he shouted "Mom, I didn't even have my ears covered!"

Yes, the water parks take photopass pictures as well. You get a photopass card on a stretchy bracelet cord that you can wear in the park.
That's wonderful Vicki. True Disney magic!

My brother really wants to get an outdoor furnace so that seems to be the only thing on his mind. He wants us to talk about it, but I really want to talk to someone that acually owns one before I make any decisions.
DH actually mentioned them to me yesterday. He gets Northern Woodlands Magazine and he said there was an article about them. I haven't seen it yet but I'll make a copy and send it to you.

Have I mentioned how thoroughly irritated I am at all the people getting postcards with PINs for August? Some of those people already had trips booked and are calling to get the discount applied. None of the August DDAers have gotten postcards!
Doesn't that stink! Dorinda had a code and I could have booked 2 rooms for us with it (and save about $50/night) but I really want to stay in the family suite and they didn't have any suites available with the pin. I know I can't do any better than AAA on the suite. Its kind of nice not worrying about when AP rates will come out.

I did a day or two this trip without a bag! It was so freeing!!!! I'll be doing this more on our future trips.
In May I did the entire trip without my waist pack. I was tired of it in all my photos. I just used a backpack (can't give that up for a few more years) but mostly have it on the stroller.
