I got the first coat of lavender on the girl's wall..Looks really pretty.:goodvibes Dana went to get something out of our shed & discovered a swarm of carpenter ants just munching away!!!! :faint:

I can't wait to see it -- I love that color! Sorry about the carpenter ants. I have the same problem. I've called my pest control company to come take another look tomorrow afternoon. I'm hoping they can get to them without drilling holes in my walls.

Hunter has joined the community band. He went to his first practice tonight. Of course their big performance is 4th of July, but he'll be at WDW :rotfl2:

Nick's still not feeling well. He was complaining of a cold sore coming so I gave him is meds for that. He said he feels like he is losing his voice and he might have a fever. This is the 3rd week that he has had off and on symptoms. Nothing that would make me take him to the doctors, but he is just not 100%. He hasn't missed school yet, but I suspect that he may be tomorrow.

Congrats to Hunter! I'm sorry Nick hasn't been felling well. I hope he's better today.

Tammi -- sorry about the tree -- that really stinks. We've lost several old trees in the almost 10 years we've been in our house.

Terry and Steffy -- love the mini TR and pics. I'm glad you guys had a safe trip.

Elizabeth -- I'm glad your Mom got a good report from her doc. Did you see that the mall close to you has had another problem? One of the jewelry stores was robbed yesterday.

We were getting ready for the baseball games yesterday when Jake came running in that there was a snake on our back patio. I went out to check on it, and the boys called my cousin who lives in the house in front of ours. We both got shovels to battle the snake, but he was faster than we were -- very fast, in fact, and he made it out of our yard in to the pasture with high grass -- we weren't going in after it. I HATE snakes. I'm surprised I didn't have a nighmare about them last night.

Andrew's team beat the team they were battling for second place last night, and Andrew pitched the first four innings. He did great, and I was so proud. A bunch of stupid errors (including multiple ones from our two coaches kids) almost cost us the game. We didn't get through until about 10:15, and then I had to stay up washing uniforms since Andrew plays again tonight.

Jake's team run ruled the other team, so he didn't get to pitch. He had two good hits, including a good shot to left field (which I missed -- shshhhh don't tell him...). That was their last game last night, and they ended in second place. My brother asked if he would play with his tournament team this weekend if they need him -- they have several kids that won't make it, so we'll see if that happens. I'm not telling Jake in case it falls through. I'm hoping that he doesn't have to play with them. We are all exhausted from last weekend, and this tournament is at least an hour and 15 minutes from us.

Have a great day everyone! :)

Marci,

Horray for Jake & Andrew's baseball games!:cool1:

Snakes???? :scared1: Glad he is gone!

Terry and Steffy, you two could make anything fun! I am going to have to take your attitude with me on our big trip this summer.

I have been firming up more plans for the trip. I now have us traveling through Colorado Springs instead of Nebraska. It's going to be a lot of driving, but we'll plan some fun along the way, too.

Some place in the back of my mind, I remember that I'm going to WDW, too! I really need to start pulling together a matrix of fun for that. I haven't told Laura or Miles about it yet, but I think I will tell Laura in about two weeks. This week and next are regular school weeks for the high school. The following week, she has exams Monday-Thursday and Matthew has exams Friday only. Miles will still have regular school hours through June 25th. I think I'll take her to lunch on that Friday and also tell her the news. I'll let her decide whether we are going to tell Miles in advance or just wake him up to go to the airport!

I still haven't had any luck getting a Chef Mickey's dinner for Miles. I know he'll be a little disappointed, but he'll have two new character meals to try (and he'll be in WDW!), so it won't be too bad.

I've never heard of CM's not having reservations. I wonder if you'd have success just walking up?

Yay for Hunter even though he'll miss the "big performance."

pixiedust: for Nick! Could he be having problems with allergies? I think this is an awful year. I'm close to going to the doctor to get something, and for me, that is HUGE. I simply DO NOT go to doctor's unless I can't help it.

Nick is home today. He still has a sore throat. I noticed this weekend that he had green nose. Allergies hadn't crossed my mind. Would he get green nose from that? When I called the school they said that there are lots of sore throat issues and stomach issues going around. There is also a confirmed case of strep throat in the 6th grade. I called our doctor's office and they are out of appointments for the day so I'm waiting for the nurse to call back to see if they can squeeze him in.

I can't wait to see it -- I love that color! Sorry about the carpenter ants. I have the same problem. I've called my pest control company to come take another look tomorrow afternoon. I'm hoping they can get to them without drilling holes in my walls.

If your brother needs him to play then let your brother take him. Give yourself a break. I'm sure he'd be fine going with his uncle, wouldn't he?

Marci - A jewelry store at NorthPark? :scared1: Central Expy. simply is not an effective barrier - the crime from the other side of the highway is going to ooze over more frequently as the economy gets worse. I do think NorthPark will be on top of it, though. They will increase security, get DPD to patrol the parking lots, whatever. They can't have women shot in the face and stores robbed and not do anything about it. Way too much at stake for them.
Yay for good games for the boys!!

Deb - Hopefully you will be able to get Nick in to see the Dr. today! :wizard:

Ours came too. I like them. I actually think the bluish purple tones will go well with the green paint. I need to find frames too. Would you like me to send a check now?

See above :rolleyes1

Chuck was so funny about getting them to you guys. He says he wrapped them in plastic to make sure they didn't get damaged.

I've never heard of CM's not having reservations. I wonder if you'd have success just walking up?

I've been calling on CM's since I booked the plane tickets, and the earliest dinner they have for the entire time is 8:55 pm. That's just too late. In the meantime, I have booked Tusker House breakfast and LTT dinner which we have never done before. I'll probably call again for CM's when it gets closer, but I'm not really concerned about it.

I don't know about the green and allergies. If there are things going around the school, it's probably one of those. There was a case of head lice in Miles' class last week! The first one that I've heard about all year, and we're almost through. I need to go get him a nice, short cut.

OMG!! I was IN THE MALL when that happened!! :scared1: Great. I can't picture where that particular store is. I think I was in Macy's at 10:45. Oh, well. The Channel 8 website says nobody was injured, so that's a good thing.

That is definitely scary!!! :scared1: I'm glad that you weren't closer and that nobody was injured.

Hope Nick feels better and that they can squeeze you in at the dr's. office.

Well, I got most of my ADR's that I had planned for. I couldn't get Tusker for dinner. It seems the day that I was planning for, something is going on at AK so they are only booking lunch ADR's. But I'll never know what since WDW won't post their stinking hours! I couldn't get Mama Melrose early enough for us to get to the 6:30 showing of Fantasmic, IF there IS a 6:30 showing of Fantasmic, which there was LAST year at this time. Again, who knows about THIS year!! But I digress. So I booked PrimeTime but I am really burnt out on that place. My other option was SciFi for dinner. We had lunch there last April and since I did it once I don't have the need to do it again. HS really needs better dining options.

Chanon, Anne Marie and/or Janet.....are you eating at LTT before MVMCP or are you just doing CS?

Here's something that I'm a little afraid to ask on another board...

Miles isn't particularly fond of ToT, but he'd probably ride it at least once with us. Laura's favorite ride of all is ToT, and it's one of mine, too. So we will probably want to ride more than once. If we all wait in line together, can Laura go while I wait with Miles and then I go while she waits with Miles? He is tall enough to ride, so I don't think we can do the traditional "child swap". He is too young to wait alone that long.

Now, you all know that I wouldn't force him to ride and I'd sacrifice my ride if it is best for the kids, but I know the kind of responses people get when they ask these questions.

Thanks!

Well, it's progress! That's weird about Tusker. I wonder what they are doing at AK? Were you tryng to get the Fantasmic package or just a plain ADR? I agree that the choices at MGM aren't great. We've never been to Mama Melrose and the menu at Brown Derby doesn't do anything for me so the choices are H&V, Sci Fi & 50's. We're doing Flying Fish on one of our MGM days.
We had lunch at Sci Fi last summer and it wasn't that good. We already knew that, but DS like to go there.

You can certainly ask! I was willing to let DS wait on a bench in the area where you buy the ride photos, but DH had a big hissy fit about it. The ride exits right there, and nobody would have bothered him, but DH was adamant about him NOT sitting there by himself. DS hates ToT, so we either skip it or have him wait with someone in our group who isn't riding. Uncle2 doesn't ride ToT, but he did walk through the queue last year to see the theming and then took the chicken exit. Last summer DS sat with Bernadette's DH and Emma while the rest of us rode.

Thanks! That's the only snag I have thought of going as just the three of us. Matthew still isn't overly fond of ToT, and dh thinks one ride a trip is plenty, so they usually hang with Miles while Laura and I ride. (Plus we have their fastpasses, so we get an extra ride.) Miles did tell me recently that he wanted to try ToT one more time, so maybe he'll decide that he likes it. If not, I'll get at least one ride this trip.

Oprah and Gail have nothing on us. We can do a great road trip adventure with the best of them.

A really wonderful trip.

Sounds like a dream trip to me. I am so glad you two were able to get away fr a couple of days.

And, Stephanie... thanks for making me laugh out loud this morning! :goodvibes

Ok...I promised myself I would actually get something done today, so I need to leave you all for a little bit.

Probably not allergies, although if he has enough pollen up his nose maybe. As my car is green and yellow from the pollen. I feel like I have been blowing dirt out my nose from being outside so much and cleaning at camp and stuff.

Yesterday I ended up at work longer then anticipated, so I am going in around 1pm today. I hope all of you who are sick or have allergy issues feel better soon. I hope all of you have a great day.

Beth, I would imagine the CMs are pretty flexible at ToT, so when you go through the first time I would ask if you can do some sort of rider switch.

DS said he will try it again, but I think he only said it because DH keeps pestering him.
