Elin glad you were able to proceed last night even though it was dark!

Tammi sorry about your tree.

Theresa I hope work did not hurt your wrist to much today.

Jennifer I love your of your belly shot :goodvibes

Anne Marie good luck redoing the girls room!

Vicki - the lithographs came today. They are beautiful! I love them! Thank you so much! Do you want me to send a check out now or wait until you get back from your trip??

Actually... one of our students came from the Virginia Renaissance Faire and was in her costuming! She had to leave it on because there are no windows in the bathrooms at the library and it was pitch black in there so no changing!

I would miss the birds... sometimes I open the patio doors at dawn and just listen to them!

I like them at 9 AM, not 5:30 AM. I have no idea why they are so cheery at that hour of the morning.

Good morning :)

Riley played a doubler header yesterday & the won both games :cool1: It was a long day, but a good one.

Time to head to work, have a great day all!
:woohoo:

All the recitals went well, but the last 2 were held in the dark! We had some powerful storms go through our area last night about 5:30 and there were trees downed all over the place. Most of the downtown area and a large portion of our section of the county were out of power for about 6 hours.

The emergency lighting at the library came on for the second recital but it went out about a third of the way through the 7:15. One of the parents had brought an outdoor lantern so we hung it from the microphone stand and it looked a little like an old-fashioned street lamp. The ambiance in the theater was actually kind of nice!

As the emergency lighting started to go out the students had trouble seeing the keyboard but did remarkably well. I held a flashlight on the music for our last performance since it was a very advanced duet that required the used of music.

The lights finally came on during our awards ceremony after that last recital so the reception was much better than the one for the 5:45 recital. No one had a clue what they were eating! :)

I had a very dark drive home as the lights were out from the river all the way out into our county and into our subdivision. Power was restored here about 11:15 so we could turn the lights out to go to bed!
The show must go on.....

I like Bernadette's line of thinking - it's a few dollars a day to have as much luggage as I want. But I agree that if we bring our bags to the desk and then go back and get them the guy doesn't need more than about $5.

Bernadette - Is Lizzy's crush anyone we know? :rolleyes1
I was thinking about your bags....and if you had bell services come to your room to get your bags and transfer them then you check in and then hit the parks isn't there a good chance that they would just deliver your bags to your new room without you there? Then you only tip the one time?

I wouldn't call it a crush.....:rolleyes1

We got in early yesterday from Waco -- around 5:30. The first game Sunday morning went really well -- we run ruled the other team and it ended early. We all packed up and went back to the hotel (one family was staying last night) and used their breakfast area to do lunch for the team. We went back at 2 for our next game, and the other team run ruled us. We just didn't play well. The team was so used to winning that I think the drive to do well was really gone. This seemed like a good lesson learned for them. Before this game, they were second in the nation for their age division.
:woohoo: Congrats to the boys for a great season!!!!

With that I am going to say have a great day DDA!!

It felt so good this weekend to only minimally use my wrist but that changes today. :( So I hope the Advil works!!
Hope it wasn't too bad today!:wizard:

After receiving flack about my last belly picture ;), I thought I'd share one I just did for my mom the other day.... it's hopefully the last! :yo-yo::upsidedow

Beautiful!!!!

Are you sure that there are twins in there? I was bigger than that with just one :rolleyes1
Me too!

Only 2 days of school left for DS! He watched The Simpsons Movie in band today! :scared1: We wouldn't let him see it in the theater! I thought the school wasn't allowed to show PG-13 movies! Oh, well. I guess it isn't that big of a deal. DS was thrilled! :bitelip:
Joe watched it on the way home from Disney-they showed the movie for free due to a delayed flight. Did you see it? It wasn't too bad. Well...not that it was good movie and I like the Simpsons....

our purse looks a bit different (what I can tell in the ONE picture) Ours has the tell tale trademarks but here's a fake:

Cool!

There's a really cool Oprah show on today. A woman lost 530 pounds on her own without surgery. She says she got a computer a couple of years ago and found friends in some political chat rooms. She found people who found her interesting and it reconnected her with people. It gave her the push she needed to lose the weight.

Vicki - the lithographs came today. They are beautiful! I love them! Thank you so much! Do you want me to send a check out now or wait until you get back from your trip??

Sent you a pm. I'm glad that you like them. They won't go well in my breezeway but think they will look nice in my office. It matches the color scheme in there much better. I still have to get frames for them.

I like them at 9 AM, not 5:30 AM. I have no idea why they are so cheery at that hour of the morning.

Chuck got up this morning to close our window. Normally he likes it open for the fresh air but the birds were bugging him. It was like 4:30. :lmao:

Hi guys...

had a blast at TL...we are all a little pink.

I updated the trip report.

Heading out shortly for Boma

Hope you are all well!!!!!

Elin glad you were able to proceed last night even though it was dark!

Tammi sorry about your tree.

Theresa I hope work did not hurt your wrist to much today.

Jennifer I love your of your belly shot :goodvibes

Anne Marie good luck redoing the girls room!

Thanks Janet, I'm dittoing you.

Today has been all wonky, not bad, just out of sorts. The brothers didn't show up today, they are sick. Their doctor gave them a high dose shot of antibiotics (the cousin's mom told me this when she picked up him) but they don't know what exactly have they have- the doctor never told them. Well if they have Hand, Foot and Mouth it won't work. I really think their doctor is a quack. She always prescribes the boys antibiotics but never tells the parents what exactly is wrong with them. And the parents never bother to ask either. :rolleyes2:

Emma woke up complaining again of ear problems and Lucy kept tugging at her ears yesterday and fussing when drinking her bottle. So I met Eric (he left work early) and dropped off Molly and the cousin. He brought them back home to feed them lunch and do naps. Both girls have ear infections. After the doctors, the 3 of us hit Target and bought nothing we really needed for $150. Well, we did get wipes and new sippy cups for Lucy. On the way home we dropped off the rx's and then came home for about 20 minutes before we headed back up to school to pick up Allyson. And Emma had to check with her teacher to make sure she didn't have homework. She is such the nerd, it's the last week of school!!

Now the extra kiddos have left and we are eating dinner and watching The Last Crusade.

I got the first coat of lavender on the girl's wall..Looks really pretty.:goodvibes Dana went to get something out of our shed & discovered a swarm of carpenter ants just munching away!!!! :faint:

Bernadette - I haven't seen the Simpsons Movie, so I am glad to hear it wasn't that bad! :)
When you check your bags with bell services (either on your own or through resort transfer) you must claim them yourself at the desk or call to have them brought to the room. They will not deliver them unless you are there. But I went back and read my thread on the Resort board and the general consensus is that you do NOT tip if you get the bags from the bell desk yourself. So we may take a cab to the new resort and if the room isn't ready we'll check the bags at the bell stand and pick them up later.

All the talk about the DDA kids got me thinking. I asked DS if he was going to choose a girl from school which one he would choose, and he did name one. A nice one, too! A smart girl he went to elementary with. I know her mom. Very nice family. I feel better now! :rotfl2: He was a little embarrassed, and he doesn't want me to tell DH, but he did have a girl in mind.

My mom is back from her consult. The tumor is down to 2 cm now and the surgeon THINKS she can get by with a lumpectomy. They haven't scheduled the procedure, though, because the surgeon and the OB/GYN have to coordinate so the D&C can be done at the same time. MORE waiting! :headache: Her follow up will depend entirely on whether her lymph nodes are positive or negative. They also told her she may be able to go home the same day! If they end up having to do a mastectomy she'll stay overnight in the hospital. She said I don't have to come up for the surgery. Yes, I know that. I told her my concern is that Diva Girl will whine and pester and annoy her to the point that she ends up doing things against her doctors' orders, like driving. That really is my main concern. This is serious, but Diva Girl thinks only of herself and can't imagine how anything could be more important than doing exactly what she wants at the precise second that she wants to do it. Mom is considering sending Diva Girl to spend a week or so with our middle sister. Good. More power to her!
I already told Diva Girl she can stay here for a bit but she will have to come to work with me every day. No sleeping until 1 PM or traipsing all over town wasting $4 a gallon gas. She would be incorporated into MY schedule, I would not bend over backwards to make her happy. She didn't like that plan.

I thought you were going to say he discovered a rabid raccoon! :scared1: Of course carpenter ants aren't good.
Sounds like you will have the room changed over pretty quickly! :)

Robyn I hope Emma & Lucy are feeling better soon :wizard:

Sounds like it will be very pretty!

Sorry about the ants

Elizabeth sending good thoughts your mom's way :wizard:

Robyn - hope the girls are feeling better soon.

Elizabeth - that's good news about your mom.

Anne Marie - go work on the redo. Can we see pictures when you are done? Still waiting for Janet and Deb's pix. ;)

We got the tree chopped and disposed of. My front yard looks naked now.

Elizabeth sending good thoughts your mom's way :wizard:

Thanks, Janet!

Robyn - I hope the girls' ear issues resolve quickly! :wizard:

I just talked to my cousin. Her DH is home from the hospital and doing OK. She said he just tires really easily. He went to work for a couple of hours this morning, so he is slowly easing back into his routine. Their DD comes back from FL tomorrow.
