Elin - Sorry, no clue. I have a silver charm bracelet from a former employer that I NEVER wear, but I wear the watch from Brother & Sister all the time. One of my high school teachers gave me a little pair of earrings when I graduated - I still have them. :)

do you have pictures of them from their first year with you that you could put in frames??

How about a piano keychain?? I've seen them around here.

How about framing one of your favorite pieces that they have played??

that's all I've got right this minute

thanks for all the help in the brainstorming! The music thing might work... but I was thinking of spending about $50 per student. I actually thought of an iPod Shuffle, but they may already have an iPod. I just haven't ever seen one growing out of their ears. ;)

I'd like to find something like that for AirTran, we purchased our November flight long before they changed the rules.
Haven't found anything yet Debbie but I'm looking! Your pictures look awesome and you look GREAT!
I need to buy graduation gifts for my three students are having their Senior Recital tomorrow afternoon. In the past I have given Cross pen & pencil sets and have also done sterling silver bracelets. I feel as if these 3 students just won't appreciate either of those gifts and am really stumped. I thought of trying to find something uniquely "Fredericksburg" because I doubt that any of them will return here when they are done with college and grad/med school. But even that is "iffy."

Any thoughts??

I like this idea.

Why is it that questions about saving money at WDW are inevitably met with "If you can't afford blah blah blah then you should stay home..."? :duck:

I am trying to work out how to change resorts 3 times, without a car, without it costing a fortune in Bell Services tips. I didn't say I can't afford to tip. In fact, I made it very clear that I plan to tip, I just don't want to move the bags more times than is absolutely necessary because the tips will add up. I can think of better ways to spend $100. Yes, I can afford it, but I prefer not to allocate the funds that way! I would prefer to buy more pins. Or ice cream. Or something OTHER than bell services tips!

I think we will bring the bags down to the lobby ourselves, request to have them moved to the next resort, and then decide later if we want to go get them ourselves or have them brought to the room. Seems people on the DVC forum are much more reasonable about it than the Resorts people.

If you had the piece custom frame and an engraved plaque added you would have no problem spending at least $50.

It seems there are always those waiting out there to bash someone, the DIS is very mild compared to some other boards I've visited. And our home here is it's own little world, Basher Free!

Elizabeth - It always amazes me that complete strangers will jump in and tell you what you should be doing, and usually in disagreement with what you have decided. My mantra is... it is your life, your money, your vacation. Do it your own way! By the way, we are reasonable here.... we may tease you and giggle at your expense sometimes, but you know you can come here and tell us what it is you plan and we will back you. Well, unless one of us knows better. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

So to all my fellow cruisers, do any of you also feel the motion of the ship for a couple of days after leaving the cruise? This is 3 for 3 for me.
YES!!! We had "sea legs" for almost a week after the cruise. We felt like we were still moving.
By the way you look great!!!

Ditto for Tammi!!!

Robyn,
Nice pictures.

Elizabeth,
I know!! I can't tell you how many times I have started to write out a question for the other boards & then deleted it.

We just got home from baseball & in the nick of time too. Thunderstorms have arrived & it's pouring!

Daniel's team won 8-5!!! Daniel was given the game ball. Bases were loaded, 2 stikes, when the ball came flying towards him at 2nd base & he caught it, threw to 1st & got 2 out!!! Inning over!

He was so proud & all his teammates were too. And he didn't even want to go to baseball this morning!:rolleyes1

Elin,

Hallmark has these cute frames where you can record voices/music. They definitely aren't $50, but it could be part of your gift.

For my yearbook graduates, I always bought them a laundry basket and filled it with dorm room essentials like popcorn, a big popcorn bowl, a couple of plastic plates, cups, bowls, quarters for laundry, etc.

Hope this helps! :)

Chanon, I don't know how Jen is TODAY, but she looked great on Thursday night when I went over. That was Kyle's last night to be on call for a while! :woohoo:

Welcome home Debbie! Great pictures, and you look fantastic!

Jen, can't wait to see your pictures, too. Sounds like you had an amazing trip.

I missed send-offs to Kristine, Lindsay, and Glynis. I hope you all have wonderful trips! :wizard:

I'm going to have to give everyone else a quick :wave2:

I hope you all have a great weekend! :goodvibes

 Hi, all! Sorry I've been MIA for so long again. I thought it was supposed to slow down once preschool was done!

Wow! Debbie and Jen have gone and returned, and I also missed Kristine, Lindsay, and Glynis...

Welcome back, Debbie and Jen! I hope you have good trips, Kristine, Lindsay, and Glynis. I can't wait to hear all about them.

That's why I try to stay here. I very rarely post anywhere else anymore. (Not that I have the time to be reading a bunch of other boards anyway.)

so ends my typing ability until some pain meds get in my system. :thumbsup2
I'm sure I'll read back to what you did to need pain meds. In the meantime, I hope you are feeling better soon!

Have fun, Kristine!!

Debbie, you look absolutely incredible! You and your DD could be sisters!

I have one of those laundry mountains in my hallway, but just dragging the laundry out to the hallway from all over the rest of the house made me tired! :rotfl2:
I have been trying to see what DS has in his closet and what he might still need for the trip. I just discovered that 7 pairs of his shorts don't fit anymore - they are ones I bought on clearance at Talbot's last year, all the same size and style but different colors. :headache: The size 8 from J. Crew still fit but the ones I just got from Target are size 12. I guess that goes back to the rule that more expensive clothes run bigger. I guess it's a good thing we plan to do at least a little bit of laundry at WDW because there is no telling what else won't fit by the time we leave. He hasn't even grown that much, but I guess his shape has changed a little bit.

What size are the shorts and how big is your ds again? Miles needs more shorts...maybe I could buy them from you. I'm pretty sure that Miles can still fit in an 8 or 10 from Target.

And a very rare sight, dressing up for my family means putting on our good jeans. I had my hair cut the day before we left, it looked good when she fixed it but I can't get it to look good for anything. Ugggh :headache:

We also think that dressing up means our good jeans. :) You look absolutely amazing! I think that you are my age (or close to it), but you definitely look way younger than me.

Oh and the appraisor comes tonight, so if you could throw some pixie dust my way for a low appraisor, I would REALLY appreciate it!

I'm all about gift cards these days. I hate having to think too hard about what to get people. Good luck!

Debbie - Welcome home! I'm glad you had a relaxing time. Yes, you come off the ship walking like you are drunk, when you are completely sober!

Robyn - great pictures. My favorite is the close-up of Emma too.

The storms are just moving in here.

Tell Daniel I am very proud of him. That brought a big smile to my face, and I know, as a parent, how proud you and Dana are of him.
