DDA Chapter 8

I am tired, so heading to bed. Sleep tight, DDA!

I'd rather be behind slow floats, instead of the horse brigade. Dashing piles is no fun.;)

There was one band that Hal marched with and I carried the banner. It was my job to call out 'biscuits' and they knew to walk to one side :lmao:

Deb I look forward to seeing pictures! I can relate with the mess though ::yes:: Mil stopped by yesterday to see what changes have been made. She was very impressed even though the place looked a mess lol She said she did not tell us she was stopping by because she did not want us to think we had to clean up.

Sounds like another exhausting for you all!

I'm exhausted, but caught up here again. I probably won't last long, but I need a break and couldn't think of anything I'd rather do :goodvibes

We started in around 8:30 this morning. We worked ALL day and both my parents and my brother helped. The kitchen is painted and the flooring is installed in that area. I still have some touch up to do and the baseboards to reinstall, but it looks awesome. It will take days to get everything moved back in there, but it is a huge improvement over where we were. I'm hoping to get the decorative painting finished this week and then we can install the rest of the flooring on Saturday. The next 2 days are super busy with appointments, games and everyday things, but hopefully I will make progress on Thursday and Friday. I can pick away at little things the next couple of days while I'm here. Did I mention that it looks awesome. I'd post pictures, but there is still way too much mess to do so. I'm just glad to have the stove and refrigerator back in place after only 24 hours :cool1:

Elizabeth sounds like you had a nice weekend. Sorry to hear about your cousins dh, hope he is better soon :wizard:

Our weekend was good.

Our flight up there was fine. I had never flown AA Eagle before. They take your carry-on away when you get on the plane! That just surprised me. There are only overhead bins on one side, so they take all the big bags and "valet" check them. When we got to KC the guy in front of me got his bag back and it was DESTROYED. He was FURIOUS! My bag was a little dirty, but not damaged.

That's what Colby had. Around here they don't even keep you out of school with it. They said it is very hard to catch from others :confused3 Colby caught it somewhere. Now I'm wondering if Nick might have it as he has a few spots on his legs and feet and is complaining of a very sore throat. He has been in his room most of the day. He plans to go to school tomorrow as he has a lacrosse game tomorrow night.

I found that keeping Colby on Ibuprophen around the clock for a few days made a huge difference.

Thanks, Deb. I thought that I remembered he had it. The motrin does seem to be the key. She woke up this morning crying that her mouth hurt. Her fever was back up so I am sure that the medicine had worn off from last night. I hope that another day of rest will help.

Cute pics!!

Boo for laundry!
Yay for bargain trees!

Yikes! I hope she is feeling better! :wizard:

Thanks, Elizabeth. Welcome back.

Elizabeth - it sounds like you had a nice visit with family, even though life still looms overhead.

Ditto. I hope your cousin's DH recovers quickly. How scary.

Hi,

I have been reading along....Hi & :wizard: to everybody!:)

Good morning!

I fell asleep on the couch last night. I woke up at 5 AM and I thought DH was still home, but apparently he went to work and I slept through it! :confused3

I need to get DS off to school. As usual, he is standing in his closet. There aren't any pants in there because they are still in the dryer. I guess I should go point that out to him.

Sounds like a pretty good trip overall, Elizabeth. :wizard: for your cousin's DH. Sounds like they caught it early enough, but how scary. I hope that in the end your sister comes to an understanding of things and an acceptance of their importance versus her activities. Based on other things you've said, I'm not sure there is, but is there any possibility that it's a form of denial and if she worries about how to get to band camp maybe mom's cancer doesn't seem like such a big deal? Good luck to you all. :grouphug:
