DDA Chapter 8

Kristin and I just waddled in from the Greek Festival. Can I say YUM-MY??? Greek meatballs, tiropita, souvlaki, spanikopita and then so many pastries we had to bring them home! Baklava, nut roll, loukamades, etc., etc., etc. We got all this (enormous portions that we shared) and drinks for under $40!

You all were chatty last night and today!

Last night a pile of clothes and I had a fight...the clothes won and I am sore all over (it wasn't fair the clothes got the litter pail involved...so it was 2 on 1) and I think I've sprained my left wrist which is really hard for this left hander. I have told Jim if it isn't any better tomorrow he has permission to take me to the urgent care (I hate medical professionals...not personally I just hate being in need).

Since I've caught up (for now) I better get off.

So the Magic made to to CA. Next time it is back in FL, I will be on it.

I ended up joining the family for midafternoon dinner. I had a good time with my second cousins that live in New York/ CA she is a performer, her sister lives in Indiana is talking about moving to Colorado with her daughter and husband. Plus Great Aunts and Uncles from across the country.

I am currently watching my Disneyland planning video and being a bum.

Well, after a brief by kind of nasty storm, we've got a beautiful day. Terra and I hit the bookstore for awhile and had a nice relaxing afternoon while the others were at Six Flags.

We also had a really neat church service today. They've been talking about the different "groups" of the church - men, women, children, seniors, etc - and the ways they can work best in their lives and the church. Today the focus was international. There is a Spanish speaking Bible Study that meets at our church and a Russian congregation meets there as well. Several years ago, a Chinese congregation used the church as well and still does for some things. All three of those groups joined our service this morning and we had various Bible readings, songs and testimonies from each group and in each language. It was just really neat to hear it all.

Tonight I guess we're grilling pork steaks plus I stopped for some angel food cake to go with our strawberries and whipped cream. Yum! I've also got to call and see if I'm working tomorrow or not. Since they are moving next weekend I may work at least part of tomorrow to help facilitate more packing getting done. Either way, I think maybe we're going to hit the local Greek Festival (thanks for the reminder, Elin!). For now I'm being asked to go outside so I guess that's where we're headed.

We used to be able to watch cartoons on the week-ends until mom and dad got up. We loved them sleeping in. We were also able to get a bowl of cold cereal, our placemats and eat in the living room. It is the ONLY time we were EVER allowed to eat in the living room. As long as we were quiet and didn't make a mess, they let this continue. We thought it was a treat for us having them sleep in. It wasn't until I was an adult that I realized it was more for them than us.

This is what my kids do. I have MY table and chairs, from when I was little, set up in the living room. During the day it's a place for Alyssa to color, but on weekend mornings they eat bfast there. They are good about letting me sleep. They will either get on the computer and play webkins or portaportal, or they watch tv. They don't come in and wake me, but sometimes the arguing does.

What a beautiful day here...70's, sunny, & the birds are still chirping.

We did alot of yard work today so we never made it to the beach but the flowers look good. The kids helped too.

We had a semi-BBQ..I cooked burgers & dawgs on my George Forman. Made some corn on the cob & beans to go with it..yummy!

Time for a movie..I think we are watching Indy.

Normally it would be steak & shrimp, but Gary still has a hard time chewing unless he cuts it up real tiny. This is what he wanted & he cooked it lol It was good though
