DDA Chapter 8

Amy, those bugs look YICKY! But the pictures are adorable.

The photos are cute and I'm glad that your kids aren't afraid of them but Ewwwwwww. I'm not a big bug fan. Thankfully I haven't seen any in our neck of the woods.

Love your pictures!

I didn't quote everyone, but thank you for the compliments on the pictures. :goodvibes I know the bugs aren't cute, but I had to take pictures, because you know Alyssa won't be so thrilled with the next breed! :teeth:

Anyone want to proofread our wedding invitations for me? :teeth:
Send me an email to work!

Do I know your work email? If you still need proofreading help, let me know! :)

Can't deal with bugs. I would come unglued if DS or Princess picked up a live bug. That big dead tree roach from a couple of months ago was more than enough. Hopefully Princess will develop a nice fear of bugs.

I agree! They are cute pics, and your kids are braver than me. I don't like bugs that crunch...

You two live in Texas! Even with regular exterminating, we still had the occasional cockroach inside. Thank goodness these bugs are outside!

Hi, DDA! :flower3:

I hope everyone is well - would you believe I haven't been on the DIS in almost 2 weeks! :scared1:

Welcome home Lindsay! :wave2:

Me too! Although by the 3rd child you'd think I wouldn't have to run to the doctors to be told it's just teething :rotfl:

You went with your instincts...nothing wrong with that. If you hadn't gone, it would've been something more serious! Murphy's Law!

When they get going they are really, really loud. Really LOUD!!!!!!

I remember the year they came out when Hal and I were first married and our dog Butch, a French Bulldog, thought he would try one to eat. Worst buzzing and crunching ever. EEEEWWWWWW

And our dog, Button, LOVES to eat the larvae. She is like a truffle pig digging in the back yard. Makes my stomach roll! :faint:

My MIL's dog is eating way too many of them and they're not agreeing with him at all. I think their loud singing hurts his sensitive ears, too.

I sent you and Amy "mini" trip reports in emails not the links to all the photos. I haven't had to a chance to do yours yet. I will soon.

Got two of them this afternoon. Thank you! Great pictures!!!

I have my tests for the Urologist on June 20th (BK's party), so pray they aren't too bad, and I will feel ok. Then I'm having surgery on July 8th. It's one night in the hospital, a week at home, and 4-6 before all is back to normal. Said I should be fine to start work Aug 4.

Sending you lots of :wizard:

oh please, oh please let this job prospect come through...I hate being second guessed on every word out of my mouth...ESPESCIALLY on stuff that is MY domain. :furious:

Can you tell it's been a day??

Doesn't Glynis get home tonight? I hope she and Katie had a great time.

Figure it will be a while before she is back on though.

I know Becky asked, but I didn't see a reply. Has anyone heard from Tom lately?

I was just thinking about both of them too, Heidi. (Tom has a birthday coming up on Sunday, by the way!)

PA is just a drive-through for this trip. We'll be on the 90 around Erie to get between here and Dayton, OH which is our first stop.

::yes:: I agree!

I'm beginning to worry a little about that myself. All 5 of us trapped in a minivan and then a single hotel room for 15 days. :scared1: :rotfl: Your "togetherness" will be much longer than ours, but we may end up more tired and crankier.

The 5 of us are no problem. It is adding my parents for 10 days in our camper and trying to tour the parks with my brother's family. I'm not afraid to split us up though.

Guess what?!? I think I found my wedding shoes! :rotfl:

:lmao: :thumbsup2 :lmao:

All this talk about flights...........I checked mine, and my return flight from Orlando is gone!

 I was glad to see that it worked out in the long run

Thanks Janet and Elizabeth! Alas, I'm off again for the time being. I did write a mini-novel on the site, but I'll repost it here since I copied it anyway. Don't feel obligated to read it, especially since it's the longest in quite a while... just keep wishing these babies out ;)

You guys are the best, and I really appreciate your care and concern... and excitement! :grouphug:

:wizard: :wizard: Come on Girls. Come out and play with the DDA kiddos. It really is fun out here.

What on earth? They put random stuff in a blender to see what will happen? DS would LOVE that. He was watching the thing on Food Network about dropping Mentos into a bottle of Diet Coke - he thought that was the best thing ever.

My kids want to try the mentos and diet coke too.

Hi, DDA! :flower3:

I hope everyone is well - would you believe I haven't been on the DIS in almost 2 weeks! :scared1:

I hope everyone is doing well! I went back a page or two and see that our twins are still in utero (hang in there, Jennifer!), but if anyone could provide me any important updates, that would be great! I have a suspiscion that the last time I read, this thread was only on it's 20th page or so. I wish I could say that I have time right now to go back and read, but I just don't. :(

Things have been good with me. I was very busy at work, and then we left for Kauai on Friday the 30th. We had a great time as always, and returned Sunday morning. The only thing that stinks about the trip is the travel home - needless to say, I'm still having back issues, and sitting on a plane for 9+ hours was not doing me any favors. I'm still trying to adjust to the 5-hour time difference - my body doesn't like the fact that I'm waking it up for work at what it thinks is 1 a.m.!

Now that I'm back, work is in full swing again - my interns arrive very soon, and since so much of my programming for them is having to be reinvented this year due to the merger, it's creating even more work than normal. So, I'm afraid I won't be around a lot again, although I will try to pop in.

Just because I haven't been around doesn't mean that I haven't thought of everyone! I hope you're all staying cool, and dry! :goodvibes

If you get a chance will you post a little trip report. I so miss Hawaii.

We are back from the doctors and Lucy's ear look wonderful. It seems that her front side teeth are about to break through and those teeth are connected to the same nerve as the ear (or something like that) so we are to just keep up with the tylenol and motrin. I knew the teeth were coming in but after giving her the medicines last night and she still seemed bothered I thought it was her ears.

I'm glad that it is nothing to be concerned with. I would have done the same thing

Bernadette - I don't know what all DH thinks he is bringing in terms of photo equipment. I bet it somehow hinges on whether or not he gets a $90 bag to haul it all around in! :headache: Those people on the Photography Board are a HORRIBLE influence on him because they have him convinced that he "needs" all this crap. Pay no attention to the fact that he doesn't know how to use the camera the way it was when he took it out of the box. He reads books, magazines, websites, but I have yet to see a single picture that looks better than anything he took with the point & shoot!
He is trying to tell me that whenever somebody posts a photo that it has been run through editing software, so if we had expensive software his photos would look better. So he needs software, and a bag, and a tripod, and I can't remember what all else. It's ridiculous.

If his theory was correct then I could use the same software to make my point and click pictures spectatular :confused3 I think not.

:wizard: :wizard:

back from the scavenger hunt.....a great time was had...I posted pics and a full description on the trip report...I am warning you ahead of time that's it's a tad long!!

We are leaving Animal Kingdom Lodge tomorrow morning....I very much enjoyed it!!!! I liked it enough to consider adding on points. :)

We will head over to Kennedy Space Center tomorrow..and then on Thursday we will start our cruise. :cool1::cool1:

Hope everyone is well!!!!!!

hang in there! im hoping this job works out for ya!

Im with you on the new job though--i aws told i find out next wednesday if i have a positino at a certain district--its killign me to wait!

:wizard: :wizard: Sending the power of the DDA your way ;)

It hit 102 here today. Of course Colby and I were at the Dam with Nick's class. It was soooo hot. I kept reapplying the 55 SPF sunblock yet I am lobster red and Colby's face is red too. Colby stayed in the water most of the time and I was in and out. I couldn't believe how many of the chaperones had on denim shorts or capris and no swimwear. I don't care how concerned I was with my body it was too hot to care. The kids had a good time and Nick thanked me for going.

Nick had his orthodontist appt and it looks like he will get braces in Sept or Oct. Then all 3 had dentist appoints. they need to brush better, but no cavities :thumbsup2

Lindsay welcome home! Hope your back is feeling better soon :wizard:

Robyn glad Lucy's ear is not the culprit & her teeth come through soon :wizard:

Theresa hope the other job comes through for you :wizard:

Denise have a wonderful trip & :wizard: for your surgery!

Heidi hope your weather is not to bad!

Kristine I am off to read your update!

Vicki how is your trip going?

:wizard: & to everyone I missed!

Guess who just called me?

Vicki. She and Chuck separated from the group for a couple of hours and were sitting in front of the Ice Cream Parlor on Main St at the same table we shared with them in October :rotfl: She said she just had to call since they were thinking of us :goodvibes She said things are going well, but it is hot. I think most of us had hotter weather at home, but they were still hot. She said she is no longer in awe of our 3 week trip as she can't imagine how hot it will be then :lmao: My bet is no worse than here. She was apprehensive of OKW after their trip earlier this year, but the are in building 54 and they love it. It is now on their favorites list.

Man, I so want to be adopted by Kristine!

Jen - good luck!

Robyn - I'm glad you have some answers regarding Lucy. Hopefully you can keep her comfortable.

I have to agree with her....this is some of the hottest weather I have ever experienced.....I am unsure I could do another summer trip....I can't even begin to imagine August :faint:

I am shocked how hot is for y'all WAY up North. It was around 90 here today. So y'all have feet and feet of snow in the winter and then the heat we get (or hotter). :scared1: Has it always gotten so hot for you, or is this really unusual?

well, here in Virginia we don't get feet and feet of snow in the winter.... and it is not totally uncommon for us to have this kind of heat, but not usually in June!
