Lindsay - thanks for the info on the DVC renter guy. Bob has his ressie for himself, dd, sister and niece in December. Debbie - it's the same guy you rented from too.

YAY! That trip is really falling into place now. :goodvibes

Things are coming together for this weekend. Soccer practice was canceled last night so I went to the grocery store and took Nicholas to get a hair cut. Today I ran to the party store and got Hannah Montana supplies for Alyssa's party and a few 1st Communion things for Nicholas. The cakes have been ordered and I will pick them both up on Friday. Sshhh...don't tell anyone but Alyssa's cake is going into the freezer until Sunday. Her bday party is at the gymnastics center. The kids will spend an hour doing gymnastics and then an hour for the party. I'm just serving pizza, drinks and cake. Do you think I should have goodie bags? I always hate those things as most of the stuff that is put in them is just junk.

Tonight we have rehearsal for 1st Communion. Nicholas is so excited that he finally gets to find out what communion tastes like!

Nope... I agree that most of the stuff that used to come home here from parties went right into the trash. I would save your money. The kids are getting a terrific afternoon!

At her 1st Communion, Kathrin was so disappointed that the "host" was not a mint! :rotfl:

Well, I better get myself dressed and out the door, or we'll be eating ice cubes for dinner!

I've got to run to the school to request teachers for next year, then to the library to drop off and pick up, then the grocery store. Then, I'm sure, I'll be home for a nap! Seems to be what I'm best at these days. My dad says that's why the young people are supposed to have babies, not old ones like me. Can you tell he's not too happy about this? I think he'll warm up, he just remembers what happened when my mom had my brother at 43 and almost died. Poor guy! Too late to worry now!

Talk to y'all later!

Remind your Dad you are not 43! Although I was tired during my pregnancy with Kristin, it was hands down the easier of my 2 pregnancies, even at age 35!

He actually shared with everyone his decision to come to Atlanta. He was going to retire this year and work more with his mission work in Alaska. He was excited about it until the phone rang one afternoon and it was the Atlanta Falcons. He said he the only thing that could make him continue football was being able to retire in his own hometown. I'm glad he is here!!

thanks for sharing that...I won't be so mad at the Broncos for that now....however their keeping the doofuses around I will still hold against them:rotfl:

Thanks. That's what I'm leaning toward.

And where did she get the idea that it would be minty???? ;)

I remember that excitement!! Tell Nicholas congratulations from our family.

I am sorry your dad isn't excited but I can imagine his apprehension also.

Glynis, he is just being dad, and parents do worry even when you are older, married and with kids of your own.

He will warm up to the idea eventually, then he will be the proudest grampa out there. :goodvibes

And where did she get the idea that it would be minty???? ;)

We have no idea! When she was very little Bob took her up for Communion and she yelled at the priest, "HEY! Where's my mint?" (And she was the quiet daughter!) :rotfl2: So we assume she thought it was a mint from the beginning.

Its being done this weekend.

OH! I thought I read that it had been completed already. Well, hopefully your house stayed dry during all our rain this week! And, yay for that new roof. :)

This story reminds me of my nephew! My nephew yelled in church once. The priest gives a "blessing" to the deacon so he could give the sermon. (To do this the priest places his hands over the deacon's head, says a prayer and we wait for the sermon to start.)
In that lovely long pause, my nephew - only 5 or 6 - decides to ask my mom - making sure that everyone within 25 rows of us could hear asks: "Gramma, is he praying for hair?" Our deacon is bald. :rolleyes1

May 6th is right around the corner! Do you know where you want to eat?
I know! I have some ideas, but nothing firm. Nicholas wants to eat at CM on his bday, plus I'd like to get the diver for him at Coral Reef. I'm also thinking of going back to HHD since it's been several years since we've seen it, and the kids have enjoyed it in the past. With some newbies coming along, I'll really have to think hard about this.
